2014-06-05 14:00:00 (link to chat)Hi Nick, I was wondering about Cody Reed, and why he's not more in the compensation round discussion. He's obv got a big fastball, but is the body also too big? The level of competition too low? The secondaries not good?
(Jasper from Leiden, the Netherlands)		So, the risk there is tied to the body and the rapid jump in velo. Then you have a commitment to Vanderbilt, a school that is known for holding on to its commits. The secondaries show promise but are still a work in progress, so an elevated price tag (if that is the case) is going to play against him if there is similar upside with other players in the supplemental first without as many risks attached to the profile.
