2015-01-15 18:00:00 (link to chat)I like this kid. Nick Longhi 1B or OF? Can hit. Where does he start this year?
(Warren from Andover)
I went back and forth on Longhi this year with Lowell. I want to see him stay within himself more and rely on his natural strength to generate power, rather than selling out like he did in many of the viewings I had this year. I think he can survive in the outfield, but he won't be a significant defensive asset. I would expect to see Longhi in Low-A this year. (Mark Anderson)
2014-11-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)I live up here in Massachusetts and had the chance to watch the lowell spinners a few times. What's your take on Nick Longhi, he looked good in the games he played.
(Pete from Pasco)
I think the Red Sox got a huge bargain in the 30th round on him. He had a disappointing senior season in HS and his commitment to LSU combined with being locked to 1B suppressed his draft interest. But he was one of the top performers in terms of in-game power on the national showcase circuit (facing high velocity pitching) during the summer prior and was a constant standout during his underclass days. I think the power is going to start showing up more and more frequently in games and as he gets healthy and I think 2015 could be a big year for him as he should finally make his full-season debut. He score high marks in the makeup department and he's a nice sleeper in that org. (Todd Gold)
2014-11-04 18:00:00 (link to chat)Nick Longhi seems to be getting some attention from the Red Sox brass. Did you, or anyone you work with, get to see him this year?
(Chet from Mizzou)
I saw Longhi quite a bit this summer and I remain mixed on him. I saw him selling out for power a lot and stepping out. When he stayed in and wore out the middle of the diamond it was a lot better and you could see what people liked. I need to see some consistency from him before I jump on the bandwagon, but I acknowledge that at his age there's plenty of room for growth and he could very well overcome my concerns about the hit tool playing. (Mark Anderson)
2014-07-03 19:00:00 (link to chat)I just moved a couple prospects in trades in a league where 300+ prospects are owned. Which of these 2013 draft picks may be worth rostering? Jordan Paroubeck, Riley Unroe, Dom Nunez, Thomas Milone, Nick Longhi, Cody Bellinger, Dillon Overton, Casey Meisner, Hunter Green, and Chris Kohler?
(username49 from Ohio)
Milone is the guy that jumps out at me. He's super raw and so very far away but he is the guy that jumped from this list. (Mauricio Rubio)
