2016-09-29 13:00:00 (link to chat)Between maladies did Anthony Alford show enough this season to keep on his first-division regular path or will staying on the field and moving to the high minors be more telling?
(Wolf from Erie)
I definitely think next year will be huge for Alford, but I think he showed just enough to suggest he's the best hitting prospect in that system. Many disagree with me and will say it's Richard Urena, and that's fine, I think it's close. I prefer the upside of Alford. (Christopher Crawford)
2016-08-05 13:00:00 (link to chat)What can Jays fans expect from Richard Urena? Is he a legit everyday shortstop in the big leagues? Thanks
(Nathan from California)
I will table this until I see New Hampshire again, which suddenly has a much more interesting squad. Thanks Pittsburgh! (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2016-08-18 13:00:00 (link to chat)I know they're completely different players, but between Richard Urena and Rowdy Tellez who do you think contributes more at the big league level? Thanks
(Nate from SLC)
Oh that's a pretty good question. Next year? Probably Tellez. Urena is a MUCH better prospect, but not sure how much he's going to play in 2017. (Christopher Crawford)
2015-07-06 13:00:00 (link to chat)Did anyone push for Javier Guerra or Richard Urena to be included in top 50?
(John Dennis from MA)
Tucker and I both really like Guerra, but his bat is just far enough away to not have quite gotten strong consideration for this list. He's not going away though. Urena didn't really get mentioned, but it's a similar situation. (Jeff Moore)
2015-06-22 13:00:00 (link to chat)Better Single-A SS prospect: Richard Urena, Javier Guerra, or Ruddy Giron? Also, thank you for the prospect chat that is both lengthy and girthy.
(Barry from Wyoming)
I don't get described as girthy all that often, so thank you. I'll take Guerra. I really like him. (Jeff Moore)
2015-04-06 20:15:00 (link to chat)What do you think of Richard Urena going to full season ball. Do you think him and Gordon could be the best low-A short stops in the minors?
(Mike from NY)
I don't have a firm read on Urena beyond that he's interesting and I plan on finding out more. I still think he's behind guys like Amed Rosario and Franklin Barreto, though Gordon definitely factors in quite highly, there. (Craig Goldstein)
2015-01-15 18:00:00 (link to chat)What do you think of young SS Richard Urena?
(Mike from Utica)
Glove first guy that will stick at shortstop, and while there's limited power in the offensive profile, he has a chance to hit enough for the package to work as an everyday guy. I want to see how his hands and mechanics work at higher levels, but there's a very good chance it is going to work. (Mark Anderson)
2014-08-04 13:00:00 (link to chat)Richard Urena - how high is the ceiling?
(traindoggah from maine)
Everyday shortstop, and maybe a very good one. (Jeff Moore)
