2019-04-24 13:00:00 (link to chat)Chris Flexen of the Mets credits his turn around to better eating and removing abnormally large portions from his diet. Namely, Outback Steakhouse. Care to comment? PS This is a totally real thing. Seriously.
(Adam from Durham)
Well he also said he ordered the wings for an appetizer so we know he was messing up. #AussieFriesForLife (Craig Goldstein)
2017-07-18 14:00:00 (link to chat)Chris Flexen next Mets pitcher prospect that flies under the radar and becomes a solid big league pitcher?
(Xavier from Brooklyn)
Interesting name Xavier... I missed Flexen in his short time in High-A... He could be, a few industry guys have mentioned him previously. keep an out on Merandy Gonzalez and Christian James. don't know if they're under the radar though. (Javier Barragan)
2017-07-06 12:00:00 (link to chat)Anything of note with Chris Flexen?
(Dan from PITT)
So I saw him last week, and he'll be written up for BP Mets next week now that I am out of Midseason List hibernation. He's noteworthy now. Fastball up to 95 with plane. Commands it to both sides. Slider is potentially plus, curve isn't bad either. Change...well there was one good one. There's gonna be durability and health questions given his injury hitsory, but he's still younger than you think and pitching well in Double-A. Certainly a Mets Top 10 guy, and I might take him over Dunn if you asked me today. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-06-27 20:00:00 (link to chat)Can Chris Flexen be a rotation piece by this time next year? Feel like he is under-discussed a bit and has flown under the radar, especially in a system that does well with pitchers of his type
(Dan from PITT)
I agree, and I've hyped him up a little along the way, but he keeps getting hurt. Stuff did jump this year in his cameo, though. (Jarrett Seidler)
2016-08-05 13:00:00 (link to chat)Does it seem like the Reds did better in the Bruce trade because of the medical issue? Isn't Dilson Herrera > Brandon Nimmo + Chris Flexen?
(John from NJ)
So I have heard three different stories on who actually failed a medical in the deal. The only stuff I have seem officially reported was Nimmo and Wotell were in the deal, and then it was Herrera/Wotell. Read into that what you will. Personally, yeah I would prefer Herrera to Nimmo, but there isn't a huge difference, and Herrera being limited to 2B could be an issue for some teams (Mets included apparently). (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2016-02-25 12:00:00 (link to chat)Who is the Mets prospect who you thinks makes the biggest jump this year, both in your rankings and nationally (aside from Carpio)?
(Eric from Ramapo)
Lindsay could be a top 101 guy.

I will be writing about this soon, but I think I might already be too low on Ali Sanchez.

Chris Flexen is another one if he gets a full healthy season under his belt given the dearth or arms in this system. You also have all the 2015 prep arms. Max Wottell is the most interesting of the bunch. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2013-08-30 13:00:00 (link to chat)Is Chris Flexen kind of a big deal or not really yet?
(Bill from LA)
Not so big that I could give you any insight on him myself, but I'd say the same for just about any 18-year-old in the Appy League. I just asked Mark Anderson, a member of our Prospect Staff, and here's what he said:

"I'm not sure I'd call him a big deal but he's a legitimate prospect. I've had reports of him reaching 94-95 a few times and sitting in the low-90s with some effort to the delivery. He's a big kid that doesn't have a ton of physical projection left, but he's also really young. I think it's a bullpen profile, but a profile that could be interesting in a couple of years."

My chats always get more interesting when I let other people pinch-hit. (Ben Lindbergh)
2013-07-29 11:00:00 (link to chat)Anything on Chris Flexen and Robert Whalen? Do they bring the heat like Harvey/Wheeler/Syndergaard?
(Sean from NY)
They may be ok, but can we really get to talk about how good Harvey/Syndergaard/Wheeler trio is going to be? (Zach Mortimer)
2013-07-23 13:00:00 (link to chat)Have you seen Chris Flexen and what are scouts saying about him?
(Frank from Canoga Park)
Honestly that's the first time I can remember seeing is name. (Harry Pavlidis)
