2018-07-16 19:00:00 (link to chat)"Talk about" a couple fun OF who've fought injuries this year and lost development time - Jhailyn Ortiz and Estevan Florial. Both obv still raw with wild approaches - do they make the necessary adjustments to get to the tantalizing skills?
(Jojo from SD)
Ortiz hits the ball with such authority, but there's very little idea what to do at the plate and essentially no secondary skills. In a lot of ways it reminds me of Dylan Cozens, and I liked Dylan Cozens, but that's not a comp Phillies fans are going to want to hear either.

I'm still heavily in on Florial, although losing two months probably keeps him in A-ball all season which is personally disappointing as someone who gets a lot of Trenton games. (Jarrett Seidler)
2017-10-24 20:00:00 (link to chat)Hey Jarrett! I have a BP Annual-related question. Does Dylan Cozens rate a full comment or a lineout? In a greater sense ... what is he?
(Not Bryan from Not In This Chat)
Full comment. There's still a huge delta in his outcomes in my opinion, because I'm not giving up on a plus-plus power guy with that athletic ability off one bad year. He could still be anything from Mike Hessman to 2017 Joey Gallo. -- Jarrett (World Series Chat)
2016-10-06 14:00:00 (link to chat)Can Dylan Cozens or Rhys Hoskins make enough contact at the major league level for their power to show?
(Kingpin from Grinnell, IA)
Hoskins has less power, but more feel. He's also older and a first baseman. Internally, I am getting better reports on Cozens than I have in the past (or that I've seen from him in person), but I just wouldn't be surprised if he is a slugging-heavy .750 OPS guy in LHV next year. The back end of the Phillies Top Ten is going to be very fluid, depending on how you want to weight floor versus upside. The copout answer is both end up somewhere in the fringy/second-division starter range, (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2016-09-08 19:00:00 (link to chat)Why isn't Rhys Hoskins getting more love from the fantasy community? I am driving the bus. All aboard!
(Ray from Nj)
Context matters. Especially in the case of Hoskins and Dylan Cozens. Reading is a notorious hitters haven that has inflated home run totals for a number of prospects in recent years. Here's the other problem. The bar for a first basemen to be relevant in a standard mixed leagues is so high. I'm just not intrigued by Hoskins at all from a fantasy standpoint. Sorry. (George Bissell)
2016-08-05 13:00:00 (link to chat)In standard NL-only fantasy league with 8 keepers per team, would you drop Austin Meadows or J.P. Crawford to make room for Dylan Cozens?
(Kingpin from Grinnell, IA)
I don't play fantasy nowadays, so I can't even say "only if you are in my league." (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2016-08-11 14:00:00 (link to chat)Could you please rank these prospects by offensive potential only, disregarding defense: Matt Chapman, Dylan Cozens, Rhys Hoskins, Christin Stewart, Bobby Bradley, and Dan Vogelbach?
(cracker73 from Florida )
Off the top of my head: Vogelbach, Bradley, Cozens, Stewart, Hoskins, Chapman. (J.P. Breen)
2016-07-13 15:00:00 (link to chat)Even Blind Willie McTell can see Dylan Cozens is putting up monster counting stats so far this year in AA. Why isn't he in LeHigh already in your opinion? Does he still have red flags attached to his approach, hole is swing, something like that?
(Bob from Duluth, MN)
Lot of swing and miss in his game, and there always will be. If I had to guess, I'd say the Phils are waiting until they know he won't get eaten alive by the good offspeed he'll see in Triple-A. (Brendan Gawlowski)
2016-06-13 23:00:00 (link to chat)Dylan Cozens has had a breakout year in the Phillies org. How much are you buying into what he's doing?
(Dave from PA)
Bunch of Cozens questions in the queue. Adam Hayes wrote him up recently, was not optimistic that quite enough of his ++ raw ends up playing at the big league level to facilitate a starting gig down the line. From what I've seen on video the swing looks long and a little mechanical. I haven't heard great things about his glove work, from Adam and others, so the bat will really have to max out to carry the profile.

2016-06-13 23:00:00 (link to chat)Trying to decide who I should be ranking higher between these outfielders for fantasy in a dynasty league. Tyler O'Neil or Dylan Cozens? Any input?
(Igor from A Bar)
I'd have O'Neill ahead of Cozens, though they are similar profiles. O'Neill's really found a way to tap into his strength consistently, and I liked his approach a bit more last year than what I've heard of Cozens.

Man, I was really feelin' that Sista Nancy cut. Let's run another one, yeah? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq7thrN348c (Wilson Karaman)
2016-05-16 23:00:00 (link to chat)There has been a lot of chatter about Dylan Cozens lately. Do you have thoughts on his ceiling/likelihood of reaching it?
(Brett from Calgary)
Also covered in today's Ten Pack. Mark Anderson's seen him like 4 billion times, so I'll defer to every word of his writeup: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=29202 (Wilson Karaman)
2016-05-17 14:00:00 (link to chat)In a deep dynasty league which outfielder do you grab in hopes they reach their ceiling: Tyler O'Neill or Dylan Cozens?
(James from The Office)
I admittedly know little about O'Neill, but the improved on-base skills and bigger power is a great sign. People that I know in Seattle are getting excited about him. Cozens has some improvements this year are notable and noteworthy (Hi, Jarrett!). It's pretty much a coin flip, but go with O'Neill and yell at me when Cozens goes ballistic. (Nicolas Stellini)
2014-05-27 11:30:00 (link to chat)Thanks for answering my questions. I love it. I'm going to go for the hat trick and then stop. Can you give me your thoughts on 3 big boys with big power: Dylan Cozens, Franmil Reyes, and Jesus Aguilar?
(Ben F from ca)
I like Cozens the best out of those 3. Swing is a bit long, and I'm not sure where he plays. That speaks more to the other two guys, really. Reyes looks like he's pretty mature and old already, even though he isn't. Not much projection left. Not a fan of Aguilar at all. AAAA player. (Jordan Gorosh)
