2015		Every year the Braves seem to get a quality performance from an unknown reliever they found God knows where. Thomas, who made the Opening Day roster despite having appeared in more games for various indy teams than for Braves affiliates, looked like a good candidate for the honors. Nope. When he wasn't on the minor-league disabled list, battling shoulder tendinitis, he made 16 forgettable big-league appearances. Our two strongest memories of Thomas: 1) When he walked two batters, uncorked two wild pitches, and failed to cover first base in a six-batter meltdown against the Red Sox; and 2) when he hugged impassive bullpen coach Eddie Perez on Turner Field's "Hug Cam."
2014		The Braves signed Ian Thomas from the independent York Revolution on the strength of his changeup, deceptive delivery and opposition to taxation without representation.

Thomas is more of a suspect for me. He's got fringy velo, decent command and a solid-average changeup. I don't think the breaking ball is enough for him to have success as a left-on-left guy, which leaves him as more of a good org arm for me." (Ben Lindbergh)
