2016-05-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)What is Going on with Clint Coulter?
(Ian from NYC )
Really rough start. I've always been low, so, I'm probably not the guy you should ask. Platoon outfielder for me. (Christopher Crawford)
2016-01-29 11:00:00 (link to chat)Was hoping this would be the year Clint Coulter solidified his spot in the top 100, but I think the FSL suppressed his bat. Look forward to seeing him in the mid season update. Same with Taylor Guerrieri.
(swamie from MI)
Coulter really comes down to what the profile is out in an outfield corner. I loved the bat as a catcher but he's not much of a defender and the bat is going to *have* to play for him to be a regular. That's a lot of pressure, and any sort of hiccup means he's more of a bench guy than anything. (Top 101 Chat with Craig Goldstein)
2015-06-10 14:00:00 (link to chat)Rank on offensive production the following emerging OF prospects: Bradley Zimmer, Billy McKinney, Austin Meadows, and Clint Coulter? Thanks...
(Prospector from Empty Mine)
Zimmer is #1 for me. I adore him. I'd probably go Zimmer, Meadows, McKinney, and Coulter. I'm still not sold on Coulter's ability to handle quality right-handers, which potentially limits him to a platoon-ish role as a corner outfielder. Still plenty of time for him to adjust and grow, though, obviously. (J.P. Breen)
2015-05-05 15:00:00 (link to chat)Clint Coulter really seems to be doing well in High A, but all I have read is platoon or 4th OF. Can he be more than that with his power and plat discipline?
(Derek from Wisconsin)
Scouts aren't sold on him being more than that just yet. While he does have power and his hot start is encouraging, there are questions about his hit tool and he'll have to produce at the Double-A level before quieting the doubters. (Nick Shlain)
2015-03-25 19:00:00 (link to chat)What's with the Brewers young guys like Ty Taylor and Monte Harrison using so little of their lower half? Doesn't seem to be a total org thing, but these two guys are wide and using very little lower half.
(Jon from Madison)
Actually, Clint Coulter does the same thing. Harrison swung similarly in high school, but I agree, none of those three guys use their lower half. Monte in particular could really benefit from a more aggressive load. (Jordan Gorosh)
2015-03-25 19:00:00 (link to chat)What do you see as Clint Coulter's ultimate ceiling?
(Chipshot212 from MA)
Platoon bat with bad outfield defense who can occasionally play first against LHP. (Jordan Gorosh)
2014-11-04 18:00:00 (link to chat)Will Clint Coulter's bat play above average if he has to move to say first base or the outfield?
(Greg from Toronto)
I think the bat can work in the outfield, but I'm not sure it will be so impactful that it will play if he ends up at first base. Coulter has plenty of pop in the bat to support a corner outfield position, and I've liked what I've seen in terms of his feel for finding the barrel and driving the ball. That gives me hope that he can withstand the move offensively. (Mark Anderson)
2014-09-03 14:00:00 (link to chat)Hi Jordan, do you think Clint Coulter sticks as a catcher? Regardless how good is the bat - what's his ceiling and floor?
(B from Milwaukee)
It's going to be difficult. The bat is far ahead of the glove right now. His actions behind the plate are relatively stiff, and he's a fringy thrower. He can hit and the power could be a legit 6. He may be able to stick back there in a reserve role, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him move away from behind the dish. (Jordan Gorosh)
2014-08-19 14:00:00 (link to chat)Hi CJ, does Clint Coulter stick as a catcher? Thanks, Tim
(Tim from TX)
I haven't seen Clint Coulter myself to tell you. I don't catch a lot of the Brewers minors but if the bat plays then they will find a position somewhere for him. (CJ Wittmann)
2014-07-22 15:00:00 (link to chat)Clint Coulter looks pretty good, and could be the person to take over after Lucroy in Milwaukee. What are your thoughts on Coulter as a hitter and defensively (game calling and such)?
(Cole from Wisconsin)
It's really far away. Lucroy is going to be the catcher there for the forseeable future. He's one of the best in the game.

As far as Coulter goes, the bat is real. Potential 50 hit 55/60 power guy. As far as his defense goes... he's got plus power potential! It's not Schwarber rough behind the dish, but it's Evan Gattis quality. He's going to have to really work at it in order to be a big league catcher, even in a platoon role. Regardless, the bat is legit, and frankly, that's going to be his carrying tool to the majors. (Jordan Gorosh)
2014-07-03 19:00:00 (link to chat)Here is my wild proclamation: in an OBP league Clint Coulter is the #1 C prospect in fantasy baseball.
(Russ from New Jersey)
I think it's still Alfaro #alpha (Mauricio Rubio)
2014-06-26 14:00:00 (link to chat)Who is the top pitching Prospect behind Jimmy Nelson and the top Hitting prospect
(Brewmann04 from new york)
I'm assuming this references the Brewers' minor-league system. The Brewers' top pitching prospect behind Nelson is Devin Williams, who could legitimately flirt with the Top 101 Prospects next winter. As far as position prospects are concerned, it's perhaps more difficult to pin that down. Tyrone Taylor and Orlando Arcia are guys who could be starters at the major-league level if the bats progress enough, but Monte Harrison might have something to say about that before the year is done. It's also been nice to see Clint Coulter rebound a bit. (J.P. Breen)
2014-06-24 13:00:00 (link to chat)Clint Coulter has really had a nice year so far in Wisconsin. I believe he is young for the level...are you a believer or not and if so, where might his bat get him ranked?
(TheBox from wisconsin)
The swing is a bit long, and he's struggled to catch up to premium velocity, but he's got a good approach, and certainly some pop in the bat. It's going to be a struggle for him to stick behind the dish, although he has made strides forward. I don't know what other positions they may attempt to play him, but the bat is the carrying tool here, and he could end up a plus hitter with plus power if everything comes together. (Jordan Gorosh)
2014-06-13 13:00:00 (link to chat)Clint Coulter has really come on this year. He was drafted high, but reports weren't great, and he has a 45 overall (20-80 scale). What do you think of Clint Coulter and what could be expected in the majors?
(Frank from Milwaukee)
Sorry, just too far away for me. Minor leaguers aren't my strong suit... that question is definitely better for a prospect guy. I'm more fantasy-oriented. (Paul Sporer)
2014-06-11 12:00:00 (link to chat)Clint Coulter has really come on this year. He was drafted high, but reports weren't great, and he has a 45 overall (20-80 scale). What do you think of Clint Coulter and what could be expected in the majors?
(Frank from Milwaukee)
I think he's got a great name. It's alliterative! Beyond that, I can't say much. He's a catcher in Single-A. I haven't seen him play. If I were you I'd check out the scouting reports and stats at BP. They'll give you a much better picture than I can. (Matthew Kory)
2014-06-16 13:00:00 (link to chat)Do you think Clint Coulter makes the Brewers top 10?
(Ace from PA)
Yes. He was in it a few years ago but fell out last year. With the year he's having, I don't see how he doesn't get back in. (Jeff Moore)
2014-05-13 11:00:00 (link to chat)How much do you read into the nice offensive start Clint Coulter has had? Will he stick at catcher? How would his bat play if he had to move positions?
(Eric from Visalia)
Production is never a bad thing, but I see a really strong mistake hitter right now, and I'm not sold the bat will carry. I also don't see a catcher long-term, but that can take time and he can improve enough to make it work. (Jason Parks)
2013-02-15 12:00:00 (link to chat)Jason, What are your thoughts on two very far away catchers in a deep dynasty league. Wyatt Mathisen & Clint Coulter ?
(Ernie from Flagstaff, AZ)
Below the level of depth that I look at in leagues. I am risk adverse with catchers because of how few pan out for fantasy purposes (Jason Collette)
