July 13, 2012 BP AnnouncementsLindbergh and Evans Help Chart New Course for BPEvery so often I have the pleasure of relaying some really great news that will help shape the future of Baseball Prospectus. Today is one of those days. I'm thrilled to announce that, effective immediately, Ben Lindbergh has been promoted to Editor-In-Chief of Baseball Prospectus. Ben leaves Bloomberg Sports to focus his efforts full-time on BP and maintain responsibility for the day-to-day management of all website content. Ben recently served as the site's Managing Editor. Lindbergh has contributed to three BP annuals, Extra Innings, ESPN Insider, and Yankees Magazine, and he served as assistant editor of BP2011 and editor of the two-volume Best of Baseball Prospectus collection. Ben has also interned for multiple MLB teams, and was inducted into the Baseball Writers' Association of America in December. Also, starting this month, former Los Angeles Dodgers GM, major league executive and player agent Dan Evans will become a regular contributor to Baseball Prospectus. Dan will be writing, tweeting, participating in chats and appearing on podcasts. Dan Evans has been in the game for 30 years and has been a decision-maker as both a club senior executive and as a player agent. A pioneer in using technology for baseball analysis, Evans orchestrated a complete and successful rebuilding of the Los Angeles Dodgers franchise during his time as their general manager and has the second-best won-loss record (.548) of any Dodgers GM.
While a DePaul University junior, Evans secured an internship with the Chicago White Sox and worked there for nearly 20 years. In addition, he also worked for the Seattle Mariners and Chicago Cubs during his career, and was a baseball analyst for the Comcast Sports Network in Chicago.
Please join me in congratulating Ben and welcoming Dan!

In all seriousness, excellent moves for BP. Looking forward to seeing how both moves play out.
