Trot Times for May 13

It wasn't the best Mother's Day for the moms on the Sunday night block of "Game of Thrones" and "Mad Men", but it was a pretty nice day for baseball moms. Especially the mothers of Giancarlo Stanton and Joey Votto.

Let's get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Joey Votto, Cincinnati Reds #3 - 21.26* seconds [video]
Poor Giancarlo Staton. All he did was hit a walkoff grand slam in Marlins Park on Sunday (hitting off of la máquina jonrón, no less!), but it wasn't enough for Home Run of the Day. That's because, up in Cincinnati, Joey Votto also hit a walkoff home run. It also happened to be the third home run on the day for Votto. That's a pretty good day. I wonder if we'll see Votto wearing his pink batting gloves or wristbands for the rest of the season now.

Slowest Trot: Kendrys Morales, Los Angeles Angels - 27.32 seconds [video]
Morales ran this trot out like a man with a sore foot or something. I suppose it could just be that he will always look injured when he runs the bases now, but this trot seemed a bit worse than Jesus Montero's. The next slowest trot belonged to Allen Craig, who took 25.79 seconds to run home yesterday. His lack of speed does not seem injury-related.

Quickest Trot: Ben Zobrist, Tampa Bay Rays - 19.62 seconds [video]
One of three trots to barely break the 20-second barrier. In Minnesota, Brian Dozier had the second quickest trot after he hit his first career home run. Out of respect for his milestone, I'll refrain from asking when he decided to give up building Fraggle food. He must be some kind of revolutionary.
