Hit	60	Plus barrel acceleration, excellent feel for barrel, plus coordination, adjusts swing to location, stays back when fooled, lower and upper body stay in sync. Hits the hard to all fields. Punishes pitches in zone aggressively, tracks spin, understands the zone and doesn't chase often.
Power	55	Plus raw power with powerful legs and hips. Lower body mechanics are clean and stay in sync with upper body and allows him to generate significant barrel velocity at the point of contact. Line drive approach may mean a very high double rate, but he will still put them into the seats at an above average rate.
Baserunning/Speed	55	Above average runner who accelerates well and has an above average top speed. Excellent base-runner with great instincts and reads, but likely won't steal many bases.
Glove	55	Quick physical reactions and good closing speed in the gap. Good hands and clean mechanics should lead to relatively few miscues. Good footwork and body control allows him to adapt to balls that lead to strange body positioning. Current reads and instincts should improve a bit with more reps.
Arm	50	Might be a hair below average arm strength, but quick transitions and an accurate arm lead to more than enough ability to get the ball into 1B in time on the vast majority of plays.

Gavin Lux profiles as a plus shortstop at the MLB level. Lux possesses a plus offensive skillset including impressive physical hit tool markers, a quality approach with spin recognition, and above average game power. He should be a slight positive both on the basepaths and defensively compared to the average MLB shortstop. Even if he doesn't reach his potential as an above average defensive shortstop, being able to field the position competently with his offense is more than enough to provide significant value.

Lux has all-star shortstop upside if he continues to refine his approach to include more patience and taps into more of his plus raw power.
