2017-09-29 12:00:00 (link to chat)It seems like Wilson and I share similar tastes in fantasy baseball assets. In his 2018 dynasty targets post, he highlighted several potential breakout names. Of these three, who will I regret not owning in 2018? Wander Javier, Jesus Luzardo, Nolan Jones.
(Chris B from St. Louis, MI)
The Nolan Jones reports from the Penn were...intriguing. Javier probably has a little more upside though if that is your thing. Love the Jesus Lizard, but the stuff isn't so good that I'd take him over the bats yet. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-09-18 23:00:00 (link to chat)Should I know about this Jesus Luzardo? All I hear is he has his stuff back and he's going to be a riser next year.
(Jon R. from Ari)
This question was submitted last night, before I literally made the exact argument in today's Ten Pack that you should know about this Jesus Luzardo. So kudos to you, Jon R. in Arizona, for you are a man of great vision and foresight: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=32790 (Wilson Karaman)
2017-08-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)I think Jesus Luzardo besides having an amazing name is one of the most underrated pitching prospects. What are your thoughts on him?
(Joke from Philadelphia)
He's kind of a poor man's Urias: shortish, but well-built, good heat, some deception, potentially plus breaking stuff. Still so far from the Majors, though, and with TJ already on the track record... ehhh. Sure. He's interesting. (Matthew Trueblood)
2017-07-18 14:00:00 (link to chat)How much has Jesus Luzardo's stock risen this season?
(Andrew from DC)
in terms of mentions, I would say significantly. Pitcher's with TJS typically get forgotten, even with plus stuff. It is not until that they begin to throw and then make rehab appearances does their stock rise. In terms of baseball skills, that too. I don't know what I am getting when a pitcher returns. In Luzardo's case, his stuff has return to pre-tjs form or maybe even better, hitting 98. (Javier Barragan)
2017-07-18 14:00:00 (link to chat)What do you think of the return the A's got for Ryan Madson and Sean Doolittle? Jesus Luzardo seems like a great addition, though, the history of TJ surgery is always troubling (and he's so young). While I'm not sure where Sheldon Neuse fits with Matt Chapman just breaking into the big leagues.
(Mark from Palo Alto)
luzardo is a pretty good selection, arm is as you said troubling. We will see how it holds up.
I don't know what Neuse really is, but if he is an average 3B defensively with pop and luzardo is healthy, it is a good haul for two relievers. (Javier Barragan)
2017-05-18 13:00:00 (link to chat)Any rumblings, murmurs or reports from Extended Spring Training? Really curious about how guys like Lazarito, Victor Garcia, Johan Oviedo and the like are looking.
(Eric from Los Angeles)
The King of Hustle Javier Barragan has been gathering some good XST notes. He really liked Jesus Luzardo, the Nats lefty prep pick coming off TJ, and we got an interesting report on Blue Jays righty Eliser Medrano. Also worth mentioning one of the reasons Gimenez got jumped is he was obliterating XST. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-01-06 13:00:00 (link to chat)Do you have any favorite sleepers in the Nationals organization?
(Andrew from DC)
Most of my favorite sleepers are now in their Top Ten after they gutted it. Jesus Luzardo is the obvious one I guess. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
