2017-03-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)How would you rank these catchers for this year----Susac, Hedges, and Murphy----who might have the biggest impact and why. Thanks
(misterbob from pa)
Well, Murphy is out until May or so now, and a fractured hand would make me stay away for this season even with Coors. Hedges is an elite defender, but I gather this is a fantasy question. He doesn't need to retain a ton of the El Paso explosion (assuming it isn't a desert mirage) to be a valuable everyday backstop, but there won't be a ton of offense there unless he is actually now Hunter Renfroe at catcher.

I'll confess to not following the Brewers Spring that closely, but even if Susac has the everyday job, I mean, it's Andrew Susac. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-02-13 20:00:00 (link to chat)NL catchers or middle relievers you see w surprising value in 2017?
(db from Pgh)
At NL catcher, I like Andrew Susac and Devin Mesoraco, especially Mesoraco. I think a lot of other folks like Susac, too, so he might not end p being a bargain. Mesoraco is more likely to be available at a bargain price due to the ssignificant injury concerns.

As for NL middle relief, I like Edubray Ramos, who is so good that he might end up being promoted from middle relief to closer sooner rather than later. I also like Grant Dayton and Koji Uehara due to their K rates. (Scooter Hotz)
2017-01-31 19:00:00 (link to chat)Thoughts on Andrew Susac in Milwaukee? Will he win the starting role and be a top 10 fantasy catcher? He has good pedigree and was just stuck behind the best catcher in the league...
(Rodney R. from Los Banos)
We've reached the Susac portion of the chat...

I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be the starter in Milwaukee. I'm not too scared of Jett Bandy the baseball player. Now Jett Bandy the 80s movie villain, that's another story. Top 10 could be a bit optimistic, though. (Mark Barry)
2017-01-31 19:00:00 (link to chat)Standard 8-team 5x5 NL-only keeper league (keep up to 8 with inflation - +$2, +$4, +$8, +$16, etc.) with 2 catchers. I have Realmuto as one of my keepers. Am I OK trying to get Andrew Susac or Austin Barnes for $1 as my second keeper?
(Kingpin from Iowa)
I'd prefer Susac to Barnes there. I think he'll get much more PT and will probably be decent-ish. That seems like a good use of $1, especially in a 2 catcher NL only. Godspeed. (Mark Barry)
2017-01-18 20:00:00 (link to chat)Surprising many experts, Andrew Susac is going to be a better fantasy catcher than ____ _______?
(RotoLando from Cloud City Bar & Grill)
JT Realmuto (Bret Sayre)
2017-01-18 20:00:00 (link to chat)Standard 5x5 NL-only keeper league, each team is allowed to keep 8 with salary escalators (+$2 in year two, +$4 in year three, +8 in year four, etc.) Is either Andrew Susac or Austin Barnes worth picking up for $1 as a 2nd catcher?
(Kingpin from Grinnell, IA)
Absolutely on Susac. (Bret Sayre)
2016-03-09 19:00:00 (link to chat)I've been holding on to Andrew Susac as my catcher of the future. Now that he's no longer eligible to be placed on my minor league roster, would you dump him for Andrew Knapp?
(Crash from Durham)
Sure. There seem to be no plans to move Buster Posey to first in the near future and even with Posey playing 20-30 games at first, Susac is blocked. I'm not a big Knapp fan either, but what the hey? (Mike Gianella)
2014-04-15 13:00:00 (link to chat)Is Andrew Susac anything more than a backup or do you think SF moves Posey to 1B or possibly 3B if Panda leaves and inserts Susac at Catcher ?
(Jerry from San Jose)
I like Susac as an average everyday catcher. Unless the Giants are just trying to move Posey for the sake of moving him (or prolonging his career), I don't think you move him to make room for Susac. (Mark Anderson)
2013-02-05 13:00:00 (link to chat)Are either Jacob j.t. Realmuto or Andrew Susac viable prospects or just plain organizational depth?
(tigerw701 from minneapolis)
Realmuto is a very legit prospect. We aren't talking superstars here, but major league level projection, regardless of the risk. (Jason Parks)
