2017-02-13 20:00:00 (link to chat)Give me a guy who will steal 20+ bases that didn't last year? Or a few guys :)
(Lightning Len from Uh, no)
Manny Margot, Aaron Altherr, Billy Burns. (Scooter Hotz)
2015-12-08 13:00:00 (link to chat)Can Billy Burns improve on or even repeat what he did last year? Seemed to be awfully lucky with the bat
(kbethel from richmond)
Hit .479 and slugged .718 in 118 balls put in play on the first pitch! I don't think it was luck, per se, because jumping on pitchers early in counts was how hitters reclaimed some of the ground they'd lost over the last five years in 2015, but I'll say that another set of adjustments is ahead of Burns if he wants to have another above-average offensive season. (Matthew Trueblood)
2015-06-16 20:00:00 (link to chat)At this point last year , most writers in the industry were not high on Billy Burns bat at all. What has changed in his approach or is he set for a collapse soon?
(ArkBuilder from Texas)
.362 BABIP, but he rarely strikes out and his LD% isn't totally embarrassing. He's due for some regression to be sure, but I do think he hits enough to stick around the majors. Still don't see a first-division guy. (Ben Carsley)
2015-06-02 18:00:00 (link to chat)A's fan here trying to find something positive in this season beyond Sonny Gray. So what do you make of the seasons so far (SSS caveat) of Stephen Vogt, Billy Burns, and Mark Canha (against right-handers)?
(Eric from Fremont)
There was another Canha question that was just submitted so I'll answer it in this one. Yeah I think there's always room for players who can hit right handed pitching even if LHPs get them out. I don't understand why Vogt is doing what he's doing and I really want Billy Burns to work but I don't think it's a long term thing. At least Marcus Semien is mashing. (Mauricio Rubio)
2015-02-26 20:00:00 (link to chat)Will Billy Burns ever be an useful fantasy OF thanks to the steals? Maybe a OF4 with impact steals... Is Jarrod Dyson his floor or ceiling, and can he steal 50+ bases? Thank you!!
(Daniel from Texas)
The problem is that Burns can't hit. He's more Tony Campana than Jarrod Dyson. (Bret Sayre)
2014-04-15 13:00:00 (link to chat)Billy Burns, does he have a chance sometime soon to see some big-league level action? The A's OF is underwhelming at best right now. I think Burns can out "Hamilton" Billy Hamilton. What's the delay???
(Max from Oaktown)
I don't see it with Burns. He's an incredible runner and he controls the zone well, but I don't think he'll hit against advanced pitching and he's not a true center field defender. He's an extra outfield/bench guy for me and I don't see any reason the A's should be pushing to bring him up quickly. (Mark Anderson)
2014-03-21 14:00:00 (link to chat)Is Billy Burns a legit prospect? Or just a guy with some speed?
(Shawnykid23 from CT)
Just a guy with some speed. (Ronit Shah)
2014-03-12 14:00:00 (link to chat)Any thoughts about Oakland's Billy Burns?
(Gary from New Jersey)
I'd pay to see him take on Mike O'Neill in an on-base-off/home run derby/fight to the death. (Ben Lindbergh)
2014-01-10 13:00:00 (link to chat)What do you make of Billy Burns? Little guy who got on base but have heard he isnt a guy
(Eric from Ann Arbor)
I've got him pegged as a 4th or 5th OF if everything goes well. (Mark Anderson)
