2019-03-15 16:00:00 (link to chat)Any guess about who might be in best position for the most Vulture Wins?
(MauerPower from NJ)
Man, it's hard enough projecting wins. Projecting vultured wins seems near impossible. I'd target some teams that have strict TTO limits for their starters like the Rays, A's or Pirates. Let's say, Wilmer Font, Ryne Stanek, Liam Hendriks and Richard Rodriguez. (Mark Barry)
2018-11-02 13:00:00 (link to chat)Could the Mets get a decent, controllable reliever (Ryne Stanek, Jeff Hoffman, Devenski, etc.) for Dom Smith?
(Dan from NY)
I think everyone and their brother knows the Mets will be considering moving Smith which hurts his trade value. The Mets are also absolutely stubborn enough to ride him on the 40 all year though, so maybe that gives them some leverage. It only takes one team to be interested but who is really looking for an everyday first baseman with no major league track record. Even the tanking teams have their own cheap cost-controlled options. (or very expensive unmoveable ones if you are the Orioles). I think you can get a reliever, but more akin to the ones they got in 2017. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2018-09-18 19:00:00 (link to chat)How long until Dom Smith for Ryne Stanek happens?
(JT from Mets)
June 17, 2022. (Mike Gianella)
2014-11-04 18:00:00 (link to chat)WHat are you expecting out of Ryne Stanek next year?
(Matt from UNLV)
Honestly, I'm not really sure. The Rays are going to take their time with him and he's likely going to get more chances in the rotation, but ultimately, he's a reliever for me. A move to the bullpen in the short term may allow him to move more quickly through the system, but I'm not sure some additional innings in a starting role wouldn't ultimately allow him to be a more complete and dominating relief pitcher. The 2015 season is going to be an interesting one for Stanek, and I'm actually curious to see what comes of it. (Mark Anderson)
2014-05-27 11:30:00 (link to chat)Chi-Chi Gonzalez, Ryne Stanek: two college guys with the right stuff. Promotions soon?
(CyMature from hardballHeaven)
The reports on Chi-Chi have been outstanding. He's probably too good for A+ at this point, and since he's 22, AA is age appropriate for a college prospect. I'd guess sometime after the all star game in the carolina league. Stanek has only made four starts, and the Rays are typically conservative with pitching, so you might see him stay in the MWL for awhile. The stuff is good, but he's also coming off injury. (Jordan Gorosh)
2013-12-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)What's the story on Ryne Stanek? Thanks
(sapsparky from Chicago)
Full scouting report coming up later this week at BP. He will be in the Rays top ten. (Jason Parks)
2013-09-11 13:00:00 (link to chat)Since all my workers are distracted from working by your chat today, who will now be the top Rays prospect given the graduation of Wil Myers, Chris Archer, and injuries to Taylor Guerreri and Hak-Ju Lee?
(Da Boss from Bossland)
Good question. As you mentioned, graduations and injuries have killed them at the top. Of course, that's a good thing with the graduations, as Myers and Archer have played a key role (along with other guys like Torres) in the Rays contending this season. It might still be Lee. Jesse Hahn is up there if they can keep him healthy. He's not going to be no. 1 in their system this offseason, but Ryne Stanek was a great value pick with upside, I thought, and he's absolutely one to watch. (Jason Cole)
2013-09-11 13:00:00 (link to chat)Speaking of Ryne Stanek, is he pitching or has TB shut him down ?
(Paul from Miami)
Didn't pitch this summer. (Jason Cole)
2013-08-14 13:00:00 (link to chat)With Taylor Guerreri down with TJ, Hak-Ju Lee also hurt most of the year, who is now the new Rays number 1 prospect?
(Mike from Tampa)
Well, I will preface this by saying the graduations of Wil Myers and Chris Archer have been very positive this year. Odorizzi has contributed just a bit as well. But it's no doubt a system in transition right now with the graduations and now injuries. I'd have to think about it a little longer on the no. 1 prospect. Ryne Stanek wasn't exactly the model of consistency at Arkansas this past spring, but he can flash the pure stuff to at least be in that discussion once he gets going. (Jason Cole)
2013-05-02 13:00:00 (link to chat)If you had the first pick in the draft this year, do you go with Mark Appel or Jonathan Grey?
(Jay from Montreal)
I'd go with Appel. Around all the pro coverage, I've been able to see three of the top college righties in the country this year between Appel, Gray, and Ryne Stanek. That's how I'd rank them â€" Appel, Gray, and Stanek. Although Stanek's stuff has ticked up since the outing I saw. (Jason Cole)

(John from Boston)
I sort of feel like this is a riddle to see if I can figure out what this list even is. What is this list? I'll go with Salvador (Sal(vy)) Perez and then the rest just for the present. (Zachary Levine)
