2016-08-05 13:00:00 (link to chat)I was looking at TPGMets's list of Mets guys eligible for MiL FA this offseason and is there any shot that Domingo Tapia, Rainy Lara, or Mickey Jannis get rostered or are they all goners? Do any of them have a rabbi left in the org?
(Art from Manhattan)		Rainy Lara should stick around so he can unseat Mark Cohoon for Mets minor league pitcher I have seen the most. They could also probably try him in the pen, since they didn't trade every A+/AA arm like they did last deadline. I saw Jannis in April. It's a knuckleballer. That's my report. /shruggie. No one liked Tapia more than me (and that was because I was way too high), but I don't think the org is treating him like an arm they are too worried about keeping around. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2013-04-04 11:00:00 (link to chat)There are some reports that Domingo Tapia's arm angle could make it difficult for him to develop a consistent breakng ball. How often is that an issue with pitchers? Do you think that will ultimately push Tapia to the pen?
(Vinny from NY)		I've heard similar, but its not a lost cause by any means. He can struggle to stay over the ball from that slot, especially over the breaking ball, which makes it get slurvy and flatten out. I think he might end up in the 'pen, most I wouldn't put him in that box yet. (Jason Parks)

(Harry from Nyc)		Domingo Tapia and Rafael Montero. Both guys have a chance to emerge as our next group of top tier potential ML starting pitchers. They both have power stuff (Tapia routinely touched 100 mph last summer), and both pound the strike zone. (Paul DePodesta)
