2018-02-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)Aaron Altherr: continue the breakout? Met his ceiling?
(smallmarketfan from nj)
Last year, he upped his hard hit rate and lofted more. The downside is his SwStr% and Contact% aren't great, and fewer LD% may not help his BA. The speed scores don't look great, and he ran less often last year (due to hammy issue?). May have upside as 20/10 in the near future, but the BA could make or break his value. A .270/20/10 may not be his full ceiling, but I'm not betting on a ton more. (Kevin Jebens)
2017-05-04 13:00:00 (link to chat)Curtis Granderson is off to a terrible start and may lose PT when Cespedes returns. Is he droppable for Aaron Altherr?
(Tommy from NJ)
I think so. I still sorta believe in Altherr. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-02-13 20:00:00 (link to chat)Give me a guy who will steal 20+ bases that didn't last year? Or a few guys :)
(Lightning Len from Uh, no)
Manny Margot, Aaron Altherr, Billy Burns. (Scooter Hotz)
2016-05-18 19:00:00 (link to chat)Do you see Aaron Altherr giving Philly anything this year ? Do you see him claiming his starting job back in 2017 ?
(Ernesto from Reading, PA)
I haven't been following the Altherr news closely, haven't seen any recent updates. I think he does get another shot next season, but it really comes down to whether or not Nick Williams is a centerfielder or not. (George Bissell)
2016-03-09 19:00:00 (link to chat)The following names aren't necessarily exciting....but in what order would you rank Trayce Thompson, Travis Shaw, Patrick Kivlehan and Tyler Goeddel for a dynasty league? Would there be a standout if just looking for potential current year impact? Cheers
(markdavo4 from Australia)
In dynasty, Shaw, Kivlehan, Goeddel, and Thompson. For 2016 only Goeddel has an opportunity now that Aaron Altherr is out for most if not all of the season and could be the guy to take a big leap forward. (Mike Gianella)
2015-09-21 20:30:00 (link to chat)Can you rank these OFs for future: Eddie Rosario, Odubel Herrera, Aaron Altherr, Preston Tucker, Pete O'Brien.
(ColeWhittier from Pasadena, CA)
I'd go Rosario, Herrera, Tucker, Altherr, O'Brien. (Bret Sayre)
2015-08-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)You are a gentleman and a scholar for taking my question. Has Aaron Altherr turned tools into performance and become a future building block for the Phillies? Or is he a 5th OF/AAAA player having a really nice season? Thanks. I really appreciate the great work you do.
(R.J. from Charlotte)
Building block is definitely too strong. That being said, I think the assertion that the tools are starting to turn into tangible baseball skills is an apt one. I think he's a fourth outfielder, but fourth outfielders are valuable. And thanks for reading! (Christopher Crawford)
2014-07-03 19:00:00 (link to chat)Aaron Altherr is 0-3. Should I be concerned? Also, who is Aaron Altherr?
(gerrybraun from San Diego)
He's a phillie so trade him. (Mauricio Rubio)
2013-05-16 13:00:00 (link to chat)Are Cleveland's Danny Salazar and Philly's Aaron Altherr the legitimate break-out players that they have suggested with their performances so far this season?
(El Bobbo from Canton, Mi)
I really like Salazar and think he has a chance to be legit. Ive never been high on Altherr and I'm just not buying it yet. I'll probably be late to the dance and forced to snuggle alone, but I've just never found Altherr to be the toolsy demon that some do. I don't see it even though I probably should. I guess he's just not my type. (Jason Parks)
2013-05-02 13:00:00 (link to chat)Aaron Altherr has to be one of the few bright spots for the Phillies this year. His bat is still unknown, but his defensive ability should be understood by now. Is Altherr a solid defensive center fielder in MLB?
(Free_AEC from New Jersey)
I saw Altherr in Lakewood last year over a four-game look, and I know our Zach Mortimer has seen a lot of him over the last couple years. He probably ends up as a corner guy down the line. Mortimer saw him in camp and told me that he's still a bit raw with his route-running, but he thinks Altherr will be fine in RF in the long run. (Jason Cole)
2011-02-22 13:00:00 (link to chat)What can you tell us about Aaron Altherr?
(Bobby from Philly)
Lots. Great size, but needs to grow into his body and add strength. Power potential in the swing, with a god hit tool. Loads of athleticism. I'm a fan. High ceiling. (Jason Parks)
