DateQuestionAnswer
2018-05-11 13:00:00 (link to chat)Who's better in two years: Didi Gregorius or Gleyber Torres
(Brian from From New York)
This is a fun one. Didi will be 30 in two years and Gleyber will be 23. Torres already looks like at the *very* least a solid everyday regular and there's still room for improvement. It really depends on how you feel about Didi's true talent level. I'll hedge my bets and say Gleyber. (Nicolas Stellini)
2016-06-20 16:00:00 (link to chat)Steve, any thoughts about when we will see Jorge Mateo in the Bronx?? Will he be playing second base?? Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
(Bob from NYC)
Right before his first game at 2B in his career, Yankees GM Brian Cashman talked about increasing his versatility so that he could be more valuable.

You can't move Didi Gregorius off SS, he is too valuable defensively. Mateo would be fine at 2B if needed. I wouldn't be shocked if he started seeing time in the OF soon. (Steve Givarz)
2013-06-13 13:00:00 (link to chat)It's likely that Didi Gregorius' hitting is due for some regression to the mean. What is that mean?
(Mario66 from Toronto)
It's possible, but to me at least, he's better than a lot of people (including myself) thought he would be. You have to tip your cap to the Dbacks pro scouting department. Damn good job there. They went out and got their guy, and the still-somewhat-early returns are fantastic. (Jason Cole)
2013-05-24 14:00:00 (link to chat)I've got five shortstops born over the course of six months, September 1989-March 1990. Take contract status out, but considering all else, how do you rank them for the short and the long term? Andrelton Simmons, Ruben Tejada, Didi Gregorius, Jean Segura, Starlin Castro.
(Matt Trueblood from Fridley, MN)
Short: Castro, Segura, Gregorius, Simmons, Tejada
Long: Castro, Segura, Simmons, Gregorius, Tejada (Sam Miller)
2013-05-30 13:30:00 (link to chat)If you had to pick the career of either Didi Gregorius or Raul Mondesi going forward, which shortstop's future would you envision as brighter?
(Jonathan from New York)
The easy answer is Gregorius because he is already achieving Major League success and Mondesi is quite a ways away. However, Mondesi is a pretty impressive talent that has a higher pure ceiling than Gregorius. I'm a sucker for raw ceiling, particularly raw ceiling paired with an exceptional feel for the game, so though it's a risky by I would be inclined to take Mondesi. (Mark Anderson)
2013-04-16 20:00:00 (link to chat)Can you rank these guys please. Thanks! Marcus Stroman, Didi Gregorius, Jorge Alfaro, Austin Hedges, Daniel Norris, Lance McCullers, Bryce Brentz, Daniel Corcino, Clayton Blackburn, Delino DeShields.
(Brandon from Pittsburgh)
DeShields, Blackburn, McCullers, Alfaro, Brentz, Stroman, Hedges, Norris, Corcino, Gregorius. (Bret Sayre)
2013-04-16 20:00:00 (link to chat)Expectations for Tony Cingrani and Didi Gregorius?
(Brandon from Smackdown Hotel)
Expectations for Cingrani have gotten way out of control due to his crazy minor league numbers, including his first few starts this year. I don't think he'll be a big strikeout guy at the major league level, he's getting them based on deception/angle, not on overwhelming stuff. Gregorius is an afterthought for fantasy, but is a good enough defender to be an above-average regular for a number of years. (Bret Sayre)
2013-02-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)Battle of 2nd Division shortstop prospects with really cool, but slightly effeminate names. Who has the better career, Didi Gregorius or Adeiny Hechavarria ?
(Paul from DC)
No idea, but I can tell you that Gregorius anagrams to Rigid Rod Guise and Adeiny Hechavarria is too long for the internet anagram server to handle. (Matthew Kory)
