2016-01-29 11:00:00 (link to chat)What does the future hold for david dahl? Now with dickerson gone when do you see him getting some major league ab's?
(mp from COL)
Colorado's outfield is still chock full thanks to their signing of Gerardo Parra (and Paulsen's ability to play OF), so I don't think it's a given Dahl gets to the majors this year. Nor do I think he needs to. He's been moved aggressively for a guy who missed as much time as he did with a hamstring injury/lacerated spleen the last few years. A full season at the upper levels wouldn't be a bad thing for Dahl. (Top 101 Chat with Craig Goldstein)
2015-01-20 19:30:00 (link to chat)Hi Ben! I need to cut three of the following from my 16 team 5x5 dynasty team; Cody Asche, John Jaso, Ike Davis, Dayan Viciedo, Will Venable, Gerardo Parra. Who gets the axe if it you made the call? Keep in mind Asche is my only insurance for Wright at 3B and Jaso is Wilson Ramos’ backup. many thanks!
(Gravybill from Paradise)
Viciedo, Venable, Asche. If you're super worried about Wright, cut Parra instead. (Ben Carsley)
2014-08-04 13:00:00 (link to chat)Would you rather go to jail for trying to get a hug with Jeter or a selfie with Gerardo Parra?
(Justin from WI)
I'm not a selfie guy. Can't get the angle right. I am a big hugger though. (Jeff Moore)
2014-01-21 18:00:00 (link to chat)What kind of numbers do you expect out of Alejandro De Aza considering he may be the odd man out of the White Sox outfield?
(jaymoff from Salem)
I still see De Aza getting a good number of at bats. I'm not a big believer in Adam Eaton and think the White Sox will find a way to play De Aza enough where he's still viable. Maybe he won't put up what he did last year, but a 10/15 year with a solid batting average wouldn't surprise. In deeper leagues, even if De Aza isn't starting, he could do what Gerardo Parra did when he was a fourth OF and provide plenty of deep league, sneaky value. (Mike Gianella)
2013-10-23 13:00:00 (link to chat)Aside from Giancarlo Stanton, what are some OF you think might be available for trade that are both above-average regulars and relatively young/cost controlled?
(Ashitaka1110 from Houston, TX)
Cost controlled and above-average who might be available via trade. Hm. Generally speaking, there aren't too many of those types out there at any position. Maybe Gerardo Parra? Granted, I'm not sure if Arizona would/intends to move him, but he fits the bill otherwise. (R.J. Anderson)
2013-09-11 13:00:00 (link to chat)Gerardo Parra is 11th in the majors in fWAR among OFs this season. That's pretty good... but do you think OF prospects with his ceiling (slightly below average offensively, well above average defensively) get their due as prospects? I think they're generally thought of as 4th OF types, and then they get buried on draft boards and prospect lists. Agree?
(Ryan from insidethezona)
I agree with you. Even more than that, though, I would say OF prospects without loud tools but do everything pretty well. Think the Jackie Bradley, Jr. types. Parra falls into that category for me as well. I've had conversations with some scouts about that – saying that those types of OF prospects are not only underrated on prospect lists, but oftentimes around the industry as well. (Jason Cole)
2013-03-26 13:00:00 (link to chat)Do you see Gerardo Parra having a breakout year now that we know he will finally be playing everyday because of the injuries?
(Todd from Dallas)
I am not at all convinced he will be playing every day once Adam Eaton gets healthy. (Zachary Levine)
2012-06-07 13:00:00 (link to chat)Admit it I'm the new Gerardo Parra, I get no respect, but all I do is produce.
(Ruben Tejada from Cooperstown)
You have a .361 on-base percentage since the start of last season. For now, you haven't played enough for people to notice and buy in. Keep it up. (R.J. Anderson)
2010-08-20 15:30:00 (link to chat)What is the ceiling for our hero ? How do you see him developing ?
(Gerardo Parra Fan Club from The Dumps)
Really? A Gerardo Parra question? How utterly random. I never saw him as more than a borderline starter/fourth OF. (Kevin Goldstein)
2009-02-16 14:00:00 (link to chat)Quien es mas macho: Julio Borbon o Gerardo Parra? Por que?
(Felipe De Jesus Calderon Hinojosa from Mexico City, MX)
Borbón, porque es más rápido y puede jugar en el medio. (Kevin Goldstein)
