DateQuestionAnswer
2012-05-07 13:00:00 (link to chat)What kind of production do you see from Brian Dozier now that he's the starter and do you see him holding onto the job?
(LoyalRoyal from Kansas)
From what I know about Dozier, he'll be a solid, if unspectacular player. I'm skeptical about his defense at shortstop--he's been described as someone without the arm or range for the position--and frankly, I think Jamey Carroll is better than what he's shown. Still, why not give Dozier a shot if you're Minnesota? (R.J. Anderson)
2010-01-26 14:00:00 (link to chat)What player without facial hair do you think would be most served by some growth?
(Andy from Florida)
Chan Ho Park proved it can work for anybody. I've always thought Jamey Carroll would be better with a beard. (Tommy Bennett)
2009-08-17 14:00:00 (link to chat)Can you concoct an explanation of why it makes sense to use a combination of an injured Trevor Crowe, a talent-limited Chris Gimenez, and adorable-but-miniscule Jamey Carroll in corner outfield slots while Matt LaPorta (and others) wander around in the wilds of Columbus? My best shots involve YouTube threats and heavy metal ingestion.
(buffum from Austin TX)
If this were the NFL, I'd say "improving your draft position". LaPorta didn't say that Shapiro "dresses like a pimp" or anything like that, did he? Otherwise, I can't explain it. LaPorta's continued presence in AAA ranks with casting Michael Caine in "Blame It On Rio" on the misallocation of resources scale. (Ken Funck)
2008-08-18 13:00:00 (link to chat)People in Cleveland are clamoring for Jhonny Peralta to move to 3B. Isn't he one of the best SS? Wouldn't the Tribe be better off signing a one year stop gap or giving Wes Hodges the gig in 2009?
(warclub from Strongsville, OH )
Asdrubal Cabrera is the best shortstop the Indians have, and should be playing there. Whether that means Peralta at second base, shortstop or another team is irrelevant.
Eric Wedge pinch-hit Jamey Carroll for Andy Marte the other day in a high-leverage situation. Why? What good is the rest of your season if not to find out if Andy Marte can be a major leaguer? (Joe Sheehan)
