2011-01-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)So, only Barrow, Weiss, Rickey, and Gillick are in the Hall as "team architects". Who else should be in your opinion? I would nominate Bob Howsam, certainly.

Larry MacPhail is too, although he did other things as well, like bringing in radio and lights. Howsam is a good choice. Paul Richards, maybe. I wrote an article here at BP awhile back about John Quinn (http://bit.ly/dHlQNZ) which wasn't intended to argue for enshrinement, but he built three pennant winners for the Braves and got the Phillies very close (the infamous '64 team).
