2021-03-03 12:00:00 (link to chat)20 player keeper league with a 5 keeper minor league . Was offered M. Gore and Kyle Lewis for R. Arozerena Should I trade away Arozerena or is he going to be a star?
(fquicks from New York )
I think he's pretty legit (if not playoff-level legit) and I have my doubts about Lewis, but I like this offer. I'd take it to get Gore. (Darius Austin)
2020-09-02 13:00:00 (link to chat)Hi Jesse! Love the rankings! I was wondering who the biggest risers and fallers where? Also is Luis Robert keeps this up for the rest of the season how high do you think he could rank?
(Alex from Texas)
I will list the risers/fallers in my upcoming article, but here is a sneak peak:

Risers: Kyle Lewis (+214), Anthony Santander (+170), Corbin Burnes (+135), Dominic Smith (+135)
Fallers: Kirby Yates (-260), Oscar Mercada (-250), Mallex Smith (-150), Tommy Pham (-125)

Plus, several players jumped from off to way up the rankings including Triston McKenzie (319) and Jake Cronenworth (354).

As for Robert, he could climb into the top 15 by season end if he continues to rake. (Jesse Roche)
2020-08-19 13:00:00 (link to chat)Kyle Lewis is robbing homeruns now!!
(Chris from Washington)
That was awesome. I've loved getting to watch him a little bit more in this Dodgers series. He's really exciting. I still think something has to give on the profile, but I've always caveated that if you can slug .570 or whatever, the rest hardly matters. He...might just have that type of power. (Craig Goldstein)
2020-08-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)Kyle Lewis is awesome
(Chris from Washington)
Less of a question than a statement, but I have to agree that I'm enjoying everything he's doing. We're still looking at 23 strikeouts in 18 games, and that's a concern, but he's shown an ability to adjust to adjustments. I don't know that the profile always looks *this* good, but major-league starter seems to be less and less of a question. (Craig Goldstein)
2020-08-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)Is Kyle Lewis more George Springer or Joey Gallo?
(Chris from Washington)
I don't think he has close to Gallo's power, ultimately, so if I'm picking between those two, Springer. (Craig Goldstein)
2020-07-22 13:00:00 (link to chat)Are Kyle Lewis and Evan white just going to split the rookie of the year votes or will the Seattle media machine make it so national writers vote them to the top?
(Chris from Washington)
I think you're forgetting about Luis Robert, who is my favorite to win the award here. I also think the Kyle Lewis hype is getting a little ahead of itself. (Craig Goldstein)
2020-07-22 13:00:00 (link to chat)Am I crazy for thinking Kyle Lewis has some serious RoY candidacy?
(Mike from Albany)
Speaking of which: No, you're not crazy! He's a really interesting guy who I don't believe in as much as the hype thus far, but who is certainly talented in his own right. Here's my take on the hype though:

We've seen Lewis hit 6 homers and 5 doubles in 18 games at the end of the 2019 season. Plus another 4 homers in intrasquad/exhibitions, mostly against...Seattle Mariners pitching. The guy had a .293 OBP in his 18-game stint. He can clearly improve on that and if he's going to slug .592, it won't much matter either way. But those aren't the foundational peripherals I feel great about projecting into the future. (Craig Goldstein)
2020-04-29 13:00:00 (link to chat)What do you think of Kyle Lewis? Give me your predictions if it was a full season in 2020 and 2021? (i.e. do you see him improving?) Other note, if you had to choose between kyle lewis or monte harrison, who would you pick?
(Paul from Baltimore)
I was a big fan prior to the major injury. I think his big splash as a pro overstated his quality, though I still like him. I'd probably take Harrison but I've been in the tank for Harrison for about as long as is possible, so I wouldn't call it the most objective opinion. (Craig Goldstein)
2020-03-11 13:00:00 (link to chat)I know these are all league/context specific buttttt, what would you be looking to do with Chris Sale in dynasty points? I want to trade him before the TJS shoe drops and am obviously willing to accept a discount. What is the minimum hitter you would be willing to accept for him - dare I venture into Kyle Lewis territory?
(Jojo from SD)
I'd aim well higher than Lewis but I'm also showing a bit more caution there than others in buying back in (though I'd love for him to be the real deal again). I'm terrible at pulling a minimum baseline type name, but while I appreciate the concern about TJ, I'd probably still be looking for a top-50 prospect to give up an arm like his. (Craig Goldstein)
2020-03-02 12:00:00 (link to chat)Which of these 3 players has the best chance to be a star someday: Jake Fraley, Trent Grisham, Kyle Lewis or Myles Straw (that's 4, not 3, but whatever)?
(Jurgen Klock from Riverpool)
Yeesh, Grisham has been the best in the majors, but not that great, and he's not a guy I'm super buying, all that said, probably Grisham. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-09-27 12:00:00 (link to chat)Are you officially riding the Kyle Lewis train?
(Buddy from Peoria, IL)
It's a very cool story, but I have uh concerns about the approach. Would like to see if he can consolidate some stuff in Tacoma next year first, but he might just dinger his way onto the 2020 roster. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-04-26 16:00:00 (link to chat)Any early reports on Mariners' prospect Kyle Lewis? How is the knee holding up?
(Buddy from Peoria, IL)
He hasn't been especially good so far, but he's been playing every day, so that's probably the most important thing. (Mark Barry)
2019-03-15 16:00:00 (link to chat)Looks like Kyle Lewis might finally be healthy!
(Buddy from Peoria, IL)
It does. And that would be lovely. (Mark Barry)
2019-02-25 16:00:00 (link to chat)Who is your sleeper breakout player. A non top 150 guy who will make the leap to top 25 value.
(Simon from Atlanta)
Jeebus, Kyle Lewis just crushed one halfway to New Mexico.

That's a pretty high bar to clear--150+ to top 25. Excluding rookies like Kyle Tucker, Nick Senzel, or Peter Alonso, I'll give some 150+ names that could improve significantly (if not top 25): Amed Rosario, Jesse Winker, Luke Voit, Ramon Laureano, Hunter Renfroe, Manny Margot, Josh James, Tyler Skaggs. Off the top of my head. (Jon Hegglund)
2018-09-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)Looks like Kyle Lewis may finally be healthy and on the right track!
(Buddy from Peoria, IL)
It does look like he's healthy, but he hasn't been especially great. Even still, the health is probably the most important thing right now and the fact that he'll have a relatively regular offseason is a good thing. (Mark Barry)
2018-02-23 20:00:00 (link to chat)What do you expect from Kyle Lewis this year?
(Buddy from Peoria, IL)
That’s tough. The knee never did get completely back to normal, it seemed, and he had it scoped again recently. I just want a healthy season from him and then we can figure out some expectations for him. (Scott Delp)
2017-09-12 23:00:00 (link to chat)I'm suddenly concerned about the M's outfield depth whereas 4 months ago I felt like they were set forever. Should I be concerned?
(Henry Cotto from Real Washington)
They're in better shape than they were in 2016, 2015, or 2014. They're in less good shape than they were in the first half of this year. The defense is really good; Haniger's bat coming around is encouraging, and even Gamel is hitting a little better, albeit very recently. I continue to be curious how Kyle Lewis factors in long term, and how his health shapes up. I was never a big O'Neill believer, so his departure doesn't change stuff for me much. (Megan Rowley)
2017-03-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)How would you rank Mickey Moniak, Kyle Lewis, Ronald Acuna, and Juan Soto for their ultimate MLB projection, and why? Thank you!
(RDBL2014 from San Francisco)
Upside

Soto, Acuna, Lewis, Moniak

Surety

Lewis, Moniak, Soto, Acuna (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-03-30 20:00:00 (link to chat)Thoughts on Kyle Lewis and what type of player will he be in the majors?
(Nick from Seattle)
Seems to have good power. Knee injury could slow down his foot speed. Best case scenario probably looks a little like Seattle's own Nelson Cruz. (Scooter Hotz)
2017-02-14 12:00:00 (link to chat)How much did Kyle Lewis' knee injury factor into his rating? If it did, where do you see him landing on next year's list if he recovers without issue?
(Tony from USA)
It was a big factor. The uncertainty there--especially w/r/t his ability to play center now--makes him a tricky prospect to rank. The general consensus of the staff was a healthy Lewis would have been #1 over O'Neill, so that should give you an idea of where he could land. (The Top 101 Prospect Chat with Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-02-21 13:00:00 (link to chat)How high should Kevin Maitan be drafted in first year player drafts? I have the 3rd overall pick, with Nick Senzel sure to go #1. Would I be crazy to take Maitan over Kyle Lewis and/or Corey Ray? Neither of those guys look like fantasy superstars, but it sounds like Maitan at least has that potential.
(David from Rochester, NY)
You would be crazy. I'd rather have Ray then Lewis. You should check out Bret Sayre's Top 50 2016 signee list that came out here at BP last month. (George Bissell)
2017-01-06 13:00:00 (link to chat)Please rank order the following outfielders with respect to fantasy potential -- Kyle Tucker, Kyle Lewis, Tyler O'Neill, Corey Ray, Lourdes Gurriel, Christin Stewart.
(b from c)
I said I wouldn't do the Parks thing for these, but I am sorely tempted just due to the complete lack of context.

My non-binding take

Tucker, Ray, O'Neill, Stewart, Gurriel (have the Jays even said he is an outfielder-only). Lewis I want to punt on until I see him healthy, but if you want to risk it, you could get him as high as second pretty easily. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2016-12-01 19:00:00 (link to chat)Thanks for the Chat, Mike! I have the #1 pick in a dynasty league and I'm trying to decide between Nick Senzel and Kyle Lewis. Scoring system is points based and roughly mirrors linear weights. Putting aside my team's position needs, do you have a strong feeling either way on Lewis vs Senzel?
(jgaztambide from Washington, DC)
I'd lean Senzel, but I don't have a strong feeling either way. (Mike Gianella)
2016-12-01 19:00:00 (link to chat)Who would you rank as the top 5 from the 2016 draft for fantasy purposes?
(Darren from Edmonton)
Senzel, Moniak (I like him more than many and like what Klentak has done so far), Ray, Kyle Lewis, and Puk. (Mike Gianella)
2016-09-21 13:00:00 (link to chat)How worried are you about the impact of this year's season ending ACL tear to Kyle Lewis going forward?
(Rickie from Mesa, AZ)
It could be pretty significant. I don't expect him to be a center fielder anymore: it was always a toss up anyway, and this is a bad knee injury. Sucks. (Brendan Gawlowski)
2016-07-13 15:00:00 (link to chat)What kind of paths (timelines) do you see for Kyle Lewis and Tyler O'Neill
(sam from Utah)
O'Neill will be knocking on the door next season. If all goes well for Lewis, he could be ready by 2018. I wouldn't panic if it was a little longer though. (Brendan Gawlowski)
