2021-04-30 13:00:00 (link to chat)Still have high hopes for Brendan Rodgers, he should have clear path to PT once he comes back which looks like soon. Can he step up and be a star with that home park?
(brad from NJ)
Another Rodgers question! Yes, I still believe, though the injuries are adding up. There is little standing in his way in Colorado (under new management) for regular playing time. We still see a potential 6/6 (hit/power) bat there. His value may also be at an all-time low. It is a good time to buy! (Jesse Roche)
2020-11-13 12:00:00 (link to chat)Who says no? Tucker Barnhart for Brendan Rogers?
(Quincy from Ames)
I'd want a clean bill of health and some more confidence in the bat against major league pitching before I dealt for Brendan Rodgers. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2020-09-25 16:00:00 (link to chat)In a 14 team weekly h2h dynasty points league which of these players would you roster going into next season for a club well-positioned to win now and going forward - Nate Lowe, Hunter Dozier, Randy Arozarena and Jake Cronenworth are all currently on my roster. Available are Hampson, A Riley, McMahon, Jesus Aguilar, Jared Walsh, Brendan Rodgers, Willie Calhoun and Leody Taveras. I am also currently rostering Oneil Cruz and wondering if I should hold on a bit longer given his uncertain legal status. My current prospects include Vaughn Brujan Cruz and KRobInson. Prospects still available include Alek Thomas Brennen Davis Jordan Groshans and Corbin Carroll. Thanks for considering the question, Dylan
(dylanrox from Philly)
Some very enticing options there. For the MLBers, I really like Calhoun and Taveras--they'll be on a bad Texas team next year, but they should be centerpieces in that lineup. I would get in on Riley; the power upside is worthwhile even if the average will kind of suck. And I'd get in on Rodgers as well--we just haven't seen a healthy version of him for an extended run in the majors. Hampson and McMahon haven't really wowed, even with the Coors advantage, Walsh feels a bit flash-in-the-pan (but I'm prepared to be wrong there!), and Aguilar could be OK for a couple more years, but his skills should be easy enough to find. Of the prospects, I am heavy into Carroll, though I like all those names. I'd probably wait on Cruz's situation for a few weeks before cutting, but it isn't looking good right now. (Jon Hegglund)
2020-02-28 13:00:00 (link to chat)Give me the names of top prospects who are going to come up this year?
(Charlie from Atlanta)
The list is extensive. Here are top-50 prospects who likely will be in the majors at some point in 2020: Jo Adell, Gavin Lux, Luis Robert, MacKenzie Gore, Carter Kieboom, Dylan Carlson, Nick Madrigal, Jesus Luzardo, Dustin May, Brendan Rodgers, Nate Pearson, Casey Mize, Forrest Whitley, Alec Bohm, Cristian Pache, Ryan Mountcastle, Spencer Howard, and Matt Manning. There are obviously others, and even more who will surprise, but I'd wager these prospects will arrive at some point. (Jesse Roche)

The most difficult part about this is figuring how who will actually be a 2B in 2025!

Keston Hiura, Gavin Lux, Brendan Rodgers, Ozzie Albies & Vidal Brujan

(Wander Franco & Gleyber Torres stick at SS) (Jesse Roche)
2020-01-27 13:00:00 (link to chat)Brendan Rodgers came into the year a top 10-15sih spect, had a solid year, and most other lists have him around that same top 15ish spot. What has you so much lower on him than others? You have to also take the Coors adjustment into affect when evaluating him.
(brad from NJ)
The nice thing about not writing about fantasy baseball is I do not have to do that last part. But yeah, I talk about Rodgers a fair bit on the podcast, as I saw him a lot in 2017/18, and never really saw the slam dunk Top 50 prospect, but we had better staff and industry reports and the performance was always good enough that I couldn't really sustain an argument. It's partially my finally catching up to my own opinions on the player (which is a weird way to phrase it, I will admit) and some concerns about how he looked against major league arms and the fairly significant injury. (Top 101 Prospects Chat)
2019-12-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)Whose bat do you think is better, Brendan Rodgers or Carter Kieboom?
(The Colonel from Pasadena, CA)
Kieboom will be significantly higher on the 101. That’s not all on the bat, but a lot of it is on the bat. (Colorado Rockies Top 10 Chat)
2019-10-21 12:00:00 (link to chat)Whose future is brighter: Brendan Rodgers the baseball player or Brendan Rodgers the Leicester City gaffer?
(Chino5 from Somers, CT)
Gaffer short term, shortstop long term. I think Rodgers has a short window where his shit works, although both are going to have to make adjustments to the top level. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-10-18 12:00:00 (link to chat)IT seems like in some people's minds Rodgers stock is down. Are you a buy/sell/hold on him? What type of number could he put up in Colorado at 2B? .280 25-30HR?
(brad from NJ)
I am a hold on Brendan Rodgers. The injury was obviously disappointing, as well as his first initial foray into the majors. But I think we are now all too accustomed to players destroying the league when they first arrive, for most guys it takes a while. Rodgers is still extremely talented to give up on. (Steve Givarz)

2019-09-06 12:00:00 (link to chat)Very excited to see you on the schedule today, Jeff. I can't tell you how disheartening it is to see Craig's queued up. Anyway, in one of my dynasty leagues we don't have a trade deadline and I was offered Dylan Carlson for Brendan Rodgers. Good deal?
(Yuri from Israel)
I'd do it with the caveat that I've never really been in on Rodgers, and it might not look good from a purely "dynasty rankings" perspective. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-08-23 15:30:00 (link to chat)What's up with all the animosity in here today, this is a baseball chat for C's sakes. Carter Kieboom or Brendan Rodgers for career? And will anyone ever answer my question for current grades for Civale and Plesac? :(
(The Colonel from Pasadena, CA)
Not sure, man. There's been a lot of troll questions in my chats recently too. Not sure why, exactly. I'll take Rodgers in that pairing. If we don't answer a question it's not always because we are ignoring it, I just don't have an answer. I haven't watched Cleveland enough to have a good answer right now, and I'd rather not just BS you. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-08-08 15:00:00 (link to chat)Do you prefer Carter Kieboom or Brendan Rodgers if both wind up at 2B (park neutral)? Also, what overall grade would you give Luis Arraez after what he has shown?
(The Colonel from Pasadena, CA)
I think I'd prefer Rodgers but that's close. I'm still not very in on Arraez, though his contact ability and this ball will conspire to prove me wrong. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-08-21 13:00:00 (link to chat)What position do you think Nick Senzel plays next year? How about Carter Kieboom, Austin Riley and Brendan Rodgers?
(The Colonel from Pasadena, CA)
I think he'll primarily play center field. I'll guess second base for Kieboom, outfield for Riley, and second base for Rodgers. (JP Breen)
2019-07-24 13:00:00 (link to chat)What is your opinion on where Brendan Rodgers stands as a prospect? Do you think he can be an above-average 2B for the Rockies? Worries?
(The Colonel from Pasadena, CA)
A season-ending injury is always tough, but the Rockies’ baffling roster-building decisions probably weren’t getting him much more development this year anyways. His .504 SLG in thr PCL this year is his only pro showing above .450, so I’m doubtful he’ll develop much power, but the speed plays, and the way the Rockies operate, Rodgers will get a sustained chance at some point (no guarantees on next year though) (Ginny Searle)
2019-07-29 13:00:00 (link to chat)Please rank their bats only: Bo Bichette, Carter Kieboom, Nick Senzel, Brendan Rodgers.
(The Colonel from Pasadena, CA)
Kieboom..Senzel...Bichette.....Rodgers (Mark Barry)
2019-07-11 23:00:00 (link to chat)Who would you rather have for the future (if their parks were neutral): Brendan Rodgers at 2B or Austin Riley at 3B?
(The Colonel from Pasadena, CA)
Probably Riley, though his sophomore slump's gonna be a doozy. I remain slightly surprised/somewhat leary that Rodgers hasn't developed a better approach (Wilson Karaman)
2019-06-26 13:00:00 (link to chat)Who do you think has the better offensive potential (park adjusted) -- Carter Kieboom, Brendan Rodgers or Nick Senzel?
(The Colonel from Pasadena, CA)
If we're just picking offensive talent in a neutral field, I'll take Senzel. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-06-26 13:00:00 (link to chat)Dynasty points league: Brendan Rodgers or Paul DeJong?
(doog7642 from Blaine. MN)
man, I think I'll go with DeJong at this point. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-06-10 20:00:00 (link to chat)I need to fill 2B for next season and beyond in my dynasty league. I have two ongoing discussions, one for Luis Urias, and one for Brendan Rodgers. Which discussion should take precedence here?
(AJ from Phoenix)
The short answer: Rodgers. The long answer: This is an exercise in ceiling vs. floor. I think Urias is more likely to at least be usable in fantasy leagues for all of 2020, but he might hit, like. 270 with 10 homers and steals. There's a better chance Rodgers flops, but also a better chance he hits, like, .280 with 25 bombs and 10 steals. So again, TL;DR: Rodgers. It's not really *that* close. (Ben Carsley)
2019-05-10 13:00:00 (link to chat)Who are your top 10 dynasty hitting prospects right now?
(Eugene from Monroe)
For guys that haven't debuted yet, I'll say: Wander Franco, Keston Hiura, Kyle Tucker, Jo Adell, Alex Kiriloff, Austin Riley, Taylor Trammell, Brendan Rodgers, Luis Robert and Yordan Alvarez (Mark Barry)
2019-05-15 13:00:00 (link to chat)After having Brendan Rodgers on my prospect roster for what feels like 27 years, what are the odds the Rockies actually give him a shot at 2nd Base at the major league level soon? Are his AAA numbers worthy of bringing back his former prospect hype?
(Flipai from Maryland)
I don't mean this to come off as harsh, since you ask a lot of great questions (and thank you for those) but it's kinda wild that a guy who has never been ranked lower than 22 on the BP 101 is considered to have lost prospect hype. He's only been around for four years! He'll get a shot once he's ready and not getting hit in the head with pitches, but predicting what the Rockies will do at any given time is not a business I want to be getting into. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-04-24 13:00:00 (link to chat)Brendan Rodgers or Alex Reyes in dynasty?
(Carl from NY)
Rodgers for me until Reyes can prove either his health or quality. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-04-05 16:00:00 (link to chat)Thoughts on Jack Flaherty? 20tm H2H points keep 8-12. Rebuilding a team I took over. Trade Kieboom and Brendan Rodgers for Flaherty? SP hard to come by. As of now prospects are borderline keepers.
(Robbie Cano’s Bat from Queens)
Long term, Flaherty is a great target. I'm not sure he'll fully repeat 2018 this season, but as long as he improves his walk rate and avoids the home runs, there's a lot to like here. I'm not a huge fan of Kieboom, mostly because he doesn't do any one thing amazingly, but he's low risk. Rodgers has more flash to me, but I can't blame you for targeting young SP when they're hard to get. (Kevin Jebens)
2019-02-06 21:00:00 (link to chat)Brendan Rodgers - not living up to expectations or is his ranking falling due to prospect fatigue?
(Brian from Milwaukee)
A very tiny bit of column a and mostly column b, though he didn't fall very far in our ranking -- we still have him as a top-15 guy. I think it's fair to say we now view him as a potential top-5 or -7 option at 2B/SS rather than an absolute stud. But he's good. We like him - BC (Dynasty 101 Chat w/ Ben Carsley and Bret Sayre)
2019-02-11 13:00:00 (link to chat)What is going on with Ryan McMahon? The bat seems real. He played 2b,3b, and 1st last year, but how do the Rockies get him into the lineup?
(Ryan McMahon from Buried in Colorado)
The Rockies have been good the last few seasons, so I guess it's hard to question their decision making. But also I really question their decision making. McMahon, Tapia and Hampson are all guys that it seems like should get run, but they just haven't. Even Dahl has had difficulty cracking the lineup. I guess this is a roundabout way of saying your guess is as good as mine. RIP future Brendan Rodgers playing time. (Mark Barry)
2018-12-19 13:00:00 (link to chat)16 team Dynasty league with 25 keepers, what order would you keep the following please: Isan Diaz, Corey Ray, Estavan Florial, Brendan Rodgers, Kopech, Peter Lambert & Widener. Thanks!
(marco polo from Italy)
Rodgers, Kopech, Florial, Ray, Diaz, Lambert and Widener for me. (Mark Barry)
2018-12-14 13:00:00 (link to chat)What's up Kevin, what do you think of Brendan Rodgers long term? Seemed to scuffle a bit at AAA, although he was battling a shoulder injury. Do you think he is prone to strikeout or do you think he can get away hitting .270-.280 in MLB?
(D-BO from 412)
Tools are still there. It's less about the physical ability and more about how he's never been challenged enough to force him to calm down the aggressiveness on pitches out of the zone. It was always going to happen at some point and given his makeup, I feel good that he will work to change his approach. (Kevin Carter)
2018-09-10 14:00:00 (link to chat)Which prospect would you rather have in a dynasty league: Brendan Rodgers or Carlos Rincon?
(Gloria from Albuquerque NM)
I guess it's the Carlos Rincon segment now. Rodgers still has a few questions to answer. He's also a shortstop prospect who may soon be calling Coors Field home, so Rincon would need to have more than a good six weeks to match that. (Darius Austin)
2018-09-18 19:00:00 (link to chat)I was just offered Brendan Rodgers for Adalberto Mondesi in a dynasty league. I have to say no right?
(Troy from sd)
I'd pass. I like Rodgers but Mondesi has shown enough in speed alone that you can't do that. (Mike Gianella)
2018-09-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)I've got Fernando Tatis and Brendan Rodgers on my dynasty league roster. How excited should I be?
(Pedro from NYC)
Super excited. You should be super excited. (Mark Barry)
2018-07-13 15:00:00 (link to chat)So re: Riley, I realize we can argue which is worse, but it's not really concerning that he swings and misses through stuff in the zone? Putting that guy as his as BP does seems kind of crazy with that being an admitted flaw of his. I'm genuinely not sure how he is a top 100 prospect with his strikeout rate, and it's not like he hits an absurd amount of homers to make up for it.
(Greg from GA)
Yeah, I just don't get worked up about minor league strikeout rates much at least not on their own. Brendan Rodgers is perfectly fine but I have fairly serious concerns about the swing. Quality of contact tends to get overlooked too much when talking about hit tool, especially in this era. (I'm not saying you are wrong, but I defer to my staff when they see him and pump him) (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2018-06-22 13:00:00 (link to chat)So long term, has Rosario fallen below mid tier guys like Segura, or lower tier guys like Semien?
(Barry Bannon from SWFC)
So this is an interesting question I will pose another way: Where would Rosario rank on a midseason 50? We've seen real issues with the swing against major league pitching, but we've also see the tools flash. I think the point at where I start really questioning who I'd rather have long term is around Brendan Rodgers, which drops him about 20 spots from his prospect height. That feels roughly about right. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2018-05-04 13:00:00 (link to chat)Do Story's strikeouts make him "underrated?"
(Mr. Fister from Arlington)
Not really. He's fine and will be replaced soon enough by Brendan Rodgers. (Anthony Rescan)
2017-08-28 13:00:00 (link to chat)hello.... what would you expect nick senzels numbers when he arrives in the majors as his doubles start going yard?
(easterbrook from ontario canada)
Good question. I find these kinds of players -- Bryants and Brendan Rodgers -- totally fascinating and fun to project. Big guys who are already strong and only project to get stronger. But I'm also not especially good at guessing.

My guess is that Senzel will always give away some power due to his solid-maybe-elite hit tool that'll help him settle for some singles and doubles situationally. Call it 280/350/500 as a ceiling with some freakish power years here and there. (Trevor Strunk)
2017-08-28 13:00:00 (link to chat)Can you name some of the big names you expect to be called up when rosters expand? Anybody you're looking forward to seeing?
(Paddy from Ireland )
As a Phillies fan, I'm kind of excited to see what JP Crawford can do, if anything at all. Brent Honeywell, for the Rays, is going to be interesting too (if they decide to pull the trigger, and that's no sure thing in Tampa Bay). A lot of my favorite guys -- Moncada, Giolito, Rhys Hoskins, et al -- have already been called up before rosters expand, so this is a tough one for me.

I hope some team does a hyper-aggressive promotion, like Nick Gordon or Brendan Rodgers or something. (Trevor Strunk)
2017-07-25 20:00:00 (link to chat)Fernando Tatis Jr - top SS prospect in 2 years?
(Eric from TX)
He's definitely in the discussion. I think it depends on the status of Amed Rosario, Brendan Rodgers and Bo Bichette.
-Nathan (Emmett Rosenbaum & Nathan Graham)
2017-07-13 14:00:00 (link to chat)Now with Quintana traded it's only a matter of time before they line up for Sonny Gray. Thoughts on Gray going to Milwaukee for a package headlined by Brinson or Colorado for a package starting with Tapia ?
(Ernie from San Diego)
I think the Quintana deal definitely helps the A's, as it's one less piece on the board. I think Gray to Milwaukee is interesting, but I'm not sure they'd be willing to give up enough to get him, as they're still *technically* rebuilding. I don't think Tapia would be enough in Colorado, but if they offered Brendan Rodgers, the A's would definitely listen. Ultimately, I think the Astros have been circling Gray for awhile, so I would guess that's where he ends up. (Mark Barry)
2017-06-27 20:00:00 (link to chat)Top 3 SS prospects in 2019 will be?
(John from Columbus)
Brendan Rodgers, Bo Bichette, and Fernando Tatis (Jarrett Seidler)
2017-06-27 20:00:00 (link to chat)Top 5 prospects in 2019?
(Adam from NJ)
Brendan Rodgers, Eloy Jimenez, Sixto Sanchez, Juan Soto, Vlad Jr. (Jarrett Seidler)
2017-05-15 17:00:00 (link to chat)Who do you like long term, Albies or Brendan Rodgers? Both future second baseman debuting in 2018?
(Mike from California )
Rodgers.

Albies will be up in 2018 for sure. Rodgers could be, but given that he hasn't even set foot in the high minors yet, 2019 might be a more reasonable guess. (Mike Gianella)
2017-05-25 13:00:00 (link to chat)Top SS prospect in 3 years is?
(Ryan from Chicago)
As a reminder, if you ask a question I don't the answer to I'll go find an answer:

Jeff Paternostro: "Someone not signed/drafted yet."

Craig Goldstein: "Maybe Brendan Rodgers." "Kevin Maitan if he's still at the position." (Eric Roseberry)
2017-04-05 23:00:00 (link to chat)How do you see the Rockies infield situation playing out once Brendan Rodgers arrives? Assuming D.J leaves for free agency, would the Rockies move Rodgers or Story to 2B?
(Mike from Dover AFB)
I'll be in a much better position to answer this in a few days after I put eyes on Rodgers' glove for the first time over the weekend. Story's leather has always scouted pretty well, though at least according to FRAA it didn't translate great numbers-wise last year, so we'll have to wait and see. Rodgers likely isn't legitimately in the mix until 2019, though, so this is not an immediate problem. (Wilson Karaman)
2017-03-23 20:00:00 (link to chat)Who are the top 5 prospects in 2018? Who are the top 5 prospects in 2019?
(Cubs Fan 69 from Illinois)
The correct answer is I have no idea. But this is fun. Let's say 2018: Victor Robles, Eloy Jimenez, Brendan Rodgers, Gleyber Torres, and Nick Senzel. 2019: Robles, Anderson Espinoza, Acuna, Michael Kopech, and Anderson Tejada. (Mark Barry)
2017-03-30 20:00:00 (link to chat)Would you rather have Dansby Swanson now, or Brendan Rodgers in your minors with Jean Segura as your interim SS in a keep forever dynasty format?
(Mike from Dover AFB)
I'd prefer Segura and Rodgers to Swanson, mostly because it seems like I'm higher on Segura than most. I think Segura is a decent bet to out-perform Swanson this year. If that happens, is it fair to call him your interim SS? He earned $30+ in NL-only leagues last year. (Scooter Hotz)
2016-11-22 20:00:00 (link to chat)What a fall for Gleyber Torres. Where does he rank among SS prospects?
(Reggie from AZ)
Not quite 101 time yet, but off the top of my head, probably fourth or fifth. In no real order, there's the Crawford, Rosario, Swanson trio out of the NL East likely still ahead of him, and they all should stay at short. Next tier, there's probably Torres and Brendan Rodgers? Am I missing anyone? (Jarrett Seidler)
2016-11-22 20:00:00 (link to chat)Think Juan Soto could become the best low minors hitter next year if he starts in full season ball?
(Mike from NY)
Sure, because if someone like Eloy Jimenez or Brendan Rodgers is in contention for this they're not going to be in the low-minors for long. Soto probably won't make it out of A-ball no matter what he does. (Jarrett Seidler)
2016-11-22 20:00:00 (link to chat)What are your thoughts on Aneury Tavares. Any chance he gets taken in the Rule 5 draft and has a shot to stick? Do you think you'll get to see Brendan Rodgers in AA next season? Who are you most looking forward to seeing in the league?
(AJ from Ottawa)
I think I saw him approximately four or five times this year and I still had to just look it up to make sure I was thinking of the right short dude with the odd-looking swing. That probably says it all, honestly. I don't expect him to taken, but stranger things have happened.

I sure hope Rodgers makes Double-A, but I mean, my home park of Trenton alone rates to have Gleyber Torres, James Kaprelian, Jorge Mateo, and perhaps Albert Abreu. The EL is gonna be loaded next year. (Jarrett Seidler)
2016-11-22 20:00:00 (link to chat)which SS prospect has the highest ceiling?
(JT from cali)
I think the answer is probably Brendan Rodgers if we're talking absolute ceiling, but he's also by far the least likely of the top five or so guys to actually make it. (Jarrett Seidler)
2016-08-05 13:00:00 (link to chat)#1 Prospect in 2018, 2019, 2020?
(Mike from MN)
For entertainment purposes only

18: Victor Robles
19: Brendan Rodgers
20: Kevin Maitan (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2016-08-18 13:00:00 (link to chat)How good is Amed Rosario? Can he be an impact regular/4+ WAR guy?
(Greggy from NC)
Without question. His upside competes with any shortstop in the minor leagues right now not named Brendan Rodgers (Yes, JP Crawford is the best shortstop prospect, but that's mainly because his floor is just stupid high). Gotta give it time and there's some volatility here, but without question he has that in him. (Christopher Crawford)
2016-08-15 22:00:00 (link to chat)Where would Eloy Jimenez rank in the Brendan Rodgers, Victor Robles, Crawford question?
(Scott from Nyc)
I'd put him behind those three but ahead of the two outfielders, with the asterisk that I might be light, that dude's a beast in the making. (Wilson Karaman)
2016-07-05 19:00:00 (link to chat)Brendan Rodgers or Yoan Moncada? Pick one and why?
(Jason from FL)
They're both top prospects, but I haven't seen either one so it's difficult for me to answer, sorry! (Kate Morrison)
2016-06-16 21:00:00 (link to chat)#1 prospect in 2017? 2018?
(Brent from ATL)
#1 prospect in 2017 is Yoan Moncada. #1 prospect in 2018 is Brendan Rodgers. (Bret Sayre)
2016-05-17 14:00:00 (link to chat)Dynasty League fantasy draft, Byron Buxton or Brendan Rodgers?
(Kyle from Florida)
I am legally required to tell you to draft the (theoretical) five-tool center fielder that's already been in the big leagues over the A-ball shortstop, as I'm pretty sure both Craig and Mike will murder me in my sleep if I don't. That's not to discredit Rogers, but Buxton is Buxton and it's far too early to press the big red button on him. (Nicolas Stellini)
2016-05-31 19:00:00 (link to chat)What type of future does Brendan Rodgers have? Can he really be a 30 home run bat at Coors field that possibly moves to 2B because of Trevor Story?
(Yuri from CA)
Brendan Rodgers is an impact talent but the Rockies have significant time before they have to worry about moving him to second because of Trevor Story. That being said Rodgers will be a first-division regular at the ML level. The bat has a chance to be special with plenty of power and in Coors 30 homers is definitely possible. In the field, he has plenty of arm at short but the question will be how the feet play and how the body fills out. There were plenty of scouts talking about 3B down the road when he was in HS. (James Fisher)
2016-05-31 19:00:00 (link to chat)Brendan Rodgers has been playing 2B quite a bit this year. With Arenado and Story on the left, are they already moving Rodgers?
(Jim from Denver)
Good point Jim, I must admit that I didn't know just how much 2B he has been playing this year. Based on that, the Rockies must have evaluated him as a 2B coming out with a well above-average bat. (James Fisher)
2016-05-31 19:00:00 (link to chat)Well if Brendan Rodgers is indeed playing more 2B which bat do you like better as a future 2B, him or Moncada?
(Jake from State Farm)
Give me Yoan Moncada if he stays long-term at 2B. (James Fisher)
2016-04-21 19:00:00 (link to chat)An 15 team OPS league with 8 keeper farm spots per- do you prefer David Dahl or Brendan Rodgers?
(rick from Scrant'in)
Lean Rodgers because of the position. (Mike Gianella)
2016-03-02 13:00:00 (link to chat)In a SABR-based league that also values defense. CBA is followed, so 3 years at peanuts then arb sets in. I have the first pick in the minor league draft and am torn between Dansby Swanson and Brendan Rodgers. I am probably set at SS for a few years, so Rodgers' distance from the show is not a huge deal to me. Staying at SS is. Would you go for Rodgers' upside in Coors or Swanson's overall game?
(DF from Wilmington, NC)
Oddly enough, I'm in a league with Bret Sayre and we just faced this same decision. We took Rodgers. (Harry Pavlidis)
2016-03-04 13:00:00 (link to chat)Bret Sayre thinks that Ian Happ could be the best overall fantasy prospect in this past draft.. Do you take him over Brendan Rodgers?
(Ron from Texarkana)
If - IF - he can stick at SS that's a possibility, yeah. Bret's got Rodgers' name tattooed on his shoulder blade (it's really quality work, + shading, ++ script, solid-average heart around it), so I'm semi-surprised he went there. But they're both really good hitters. I'd still take Rodgers without a second thought. (Wilson Karaman)
2016-03-03 13:00:00 (link to chat)Really like BP chats the best out of all the options on the internet. Your guys are helpful without appearing to have a chip on the shoulder. Question: Please rank the following 6 players as my 1st pick in a minor league draft. I'll likely be able to choose from the following: Brinson, B Zimmer, Brendan Rodgers, Nick Williams, Benentendi, and Snell.
(Chris from Baltimore)
Thanks!

I would go

Rodgers
Zimmer
Brinson
Snell
Benintendi
Williams

There all great options, I just think Rodgers ability to play shortstop and chance for plus hit/power totals makes him the guy. (Christopher Crawford)
2016-01-27 19:00:00 (link to chat)If you could choose any 3 for a dynasty league who would you choose between Brendan Rodgers, AJ Reed, Bradley Zimmer, Victor Robles, Andrew Benintendi, Rafael Devers? Note the scorable categories are singles, doubles, triples, HR, RBI, runs, batting avg, OBP, SBs. 10 team only 50 minor league keepers total in the league, so general value ceiling over floor. Thanks!
(Rusty Greer from Texas)
Rodgers, Robles and Zimmer for me, with Devers right there as well. I could see Reed being swapped in if you want someone closer to the majors, too. But just based on upside I'd leave him out. (Matt Collins)
2016-01-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)Who are your top 3 prospects from last years draft and recent int'l signings?
(mbeemsterboer from Wisconsin)
From the draft it'd be Brendan Rodgers, Dansby Swanson and Dillon Tate. From the international signings it'd be Yadier Alvarez, Eddy Julio Martinez and Vlad Guerrero, Jr. (Christopher Crawford)
