2021-01-08 12:00:00 (link to chat)Rank em- kbryan hayes, will smith(c),Trent Grisham,Jesse winker,Dom Smith
(Jim mcintyre from Cincinnati)
Smith over Hayes on major league floor/platform performance and positional scarcity, then Dom, Grisham, Winker, but I'm not super sold on the order of the last three. Winker might be the best for 2021, but he's never really had a full season and is going to be 28. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2020-03-27 13:00:00 (link to chat)If you could choose 3 guys outside of the fantasy top 200 who you think have the best chance of contributing like a top 50 player by the end of the year, who would you take?
(Senator Ron from Whipping my caucus)
I assume you are talking redraft (and not prospects). I think certain prospects drafted 200+ could arrive and produce like a top-50 player (Adell & Gore). Others include a healthy Andrew McCutchen, Josh James, Dylan Cease, Willy Adames, Trent Grisham, and Gregory Polanco. (Jesse Roche)
2020-03-27 13:00:00 (link to chat)Who are your personal cheeseballs that you find yourself taking as fliers in fantasy leagues this year? Hitters and pitchers. Thanks!
(Sandwich shop guy from Making a sandwich for your mom)
Young MLB hitter: Trent Grisham
Old MLB hitter: Kyle Seager
Hitting prospect: Heriberto Hernandez
Young MLB pitcher: Frankie Montas/Dinelson Lamet
Old MLB pitcher: Garrett Richards
Pitching prospect: RANDY DOBNAK! (Jesse Roche)
2020-03-02 12:00:00 (link to chat)Which of these 3 players has the best chance to be a star someday: Jake Fraley, Trent Grisham, Kyle Lewis or Myles Straw (that's 4, not 3, but whatever)?
(Jurgen Klock from Riverpool)
Yeesh, Grisham has been the best in the majors, but not that great, and he's not a guy I'm super buying, all that said, probably Grisham. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-12-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)Would like to hear your opinion on Trent Grisham in SD, hit/power tools and what his OFP would be after that huge AA/AAA season he just had.
(The Goose from Gaslamp)
I'm not super back in on Grisham even after the swing tweaks, still think the hit tool ends up fringy and it's more second-division in a corner. Something like 45/55 on the offensive tools. (San Diego Padres Top 10 Prospects)
2019-10-11 12:00:00 (link to chat)Trent Grisham a solid regular given playing time next year?
(Brandon from MO)
Let's call that like a 65th percentile outcome for next season. I still have some questions about the bat long term. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-10-16 13:00:00 (link to chat)Trent Grisham - big step up in AAA albeit Colorado Springs lackluster numbers in Milwaukee . Someone you believe in or just meh?
(Griff from Miami)
It wasn't Colorado Springs, it was San Antonio. Colorado Springs is now a Pioneer League team for Milwaukee, I believe (replacing Helena). I believe to an extent. He's always been a hitter, but it's a crowded outfield. JP Breen and I discussed path to playing time on a recent TINO episode, and it's not as direct as I'd like, overall. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-10-04 14:15:00 (link to chat)Kevin Newman or Trent Grisham -so do you like better?
(Bob prince from Pittsburgh)
I was never deeply into either as prospects. Newman has the higher floor, Grisham the higher ceiling. So it depends on what you want to weight (which is the subject of an upcoming Three-Quarters Delivery podcast by the way / flashes the Mick Foley cheap plug Thumbs Up) (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-09-25 13:00:00 (link to chat)Who is the better 2020 fantasy play, Trent Grisham or Austin Hays? 14-team dynasty with OPS added to standard 5x5 cats.
(Alex from Austin)
Gimme Austin Hays, defensive highlights and all (I like his path to PT much better) (Craig Goldstein)
2019-09-20 11:00:00 (link to chat)Now that Trent Grisham has realized his potential, what grades would you give his hit & power tools?
(Pete Vuckovich from Milwaukee)
I don't know if he's actually all the way there yet, but the projection now is probably bumped to like 45 H/55 P which is a sight better than it was coming into the year. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-08-30 16:00:00 (link to chat)I have two spots on the end of my bench to stash roto keepers for 2020. Who do you like out of Clint Frazier, Mike Tauchman, Trent Grisham, Seth Brown, and Sheldon Neuse?
(Mason from Kansas)
Well, first of all I'm going to fade the A's a little bit--their collective AAA numbers in Vegas this year are insane. I think I have to go Tauchman, Grisham, and then Frazier. Frazier would be first but I don't know that Tauchman hasn't passed him in the Yankees OF pecking order. Dude just rakes. You could use the other spot on Frazier to hedge that lineup spot, which is probably what I'd do. I like Grisham, but there's still plenty of uncertainty there. (Jon Hegglund)
2019-08-26 13:00:00 (link to chat)Nick Solak vs. Trent Grisham. Who would you rather have in a roto league for the next few years?
(M from Texas)
It's still Grisham, for me, but it's closer than I would've thought, like two weeks ago. (Mark Barry)
2019-08-08 15:00:00 (link to chat)Who's worth more next year in a h2h categories with OPS added, Nick Castellanos or Trent Grisham?
(Alex from Austin)
I'll take Castellanos for next year. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-08-02 16:00:00 (link to chat)What's the deal with Trent Grisham?
(Jerry Seinfeld from New York, NY)
Helllllo, Jerry. Grisham's call-up was dealt with expertly by Keanan Lamb and J.P. Breen, but my take is: be very suspicious of AAA breakouts this year. I think Grisham is an exciting player, but he'll need a Cain injury (hardly stretching the imagination, I know) to find regular playing time, and if he does? The speed looks like it will play, but less so if he's low in the order. The plate discipline is nice, but I don't trust the average. Unrelatedly, does anyone have any good ideas for transforming my Nicky Lopez sleeve tattoo into something less embarrassing? (Jon Hegglund)
2019-08-06 12:00:00 (link to chat)Am I an idiot for dropping Lorenzo Cain in favor of keeping Trent Grisham in my dynasty league? Cain has been a benchwarmer all year behind Acuna, S. Marte, Ozuna, Franimal, and Castellanos (start 3).
(Alex from Austin)
I would guess with that much outfield depth you can take a young upside flyer. It's fine. I might have tried to get something for Cain, but I dunno enough about your league. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-07-31 12:00:00 (link to chat)If you were a seller which outfielder would you value more as a trade return, the Yankees Estevan Florial or the Brewers Trent Grisham?
(DJ from Madison, WI)
I think I might gamble on Grisham at this point. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-07-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)Is this the year of the Trent Grisham breakout? The PCL is an absolute launching pad this year, but he's managing a 104 DRC+ at San Antonio, after posting 165 at AA. I'm curious if he's raised his profile from possible 4th OF to a MLB regular.
(treacy19 from Cody Ponce fans Clubhouse)
It's been quite a road for Grisham, hasn't it? It's great to see him having success. I still think he's more in the fourth outfielder category, but the line between that role and second-division starter isn't that different. It's possible his ability to make contact helps his power play up with the new ball, though. (Craig Goldstein)
2017-09-28 13:00:00 (link to chat)What are your thoughts on Isan Diaz and Trent Clark?
(sykklone from IA)
Diaz obviously went backward a bit this year. Arm, speed, motions say he's going to be a second baseman, not a shortstop. Still has the natural power and a bit of an approach, though. I think he wants to be really good, so he might just make the improvements necessary to actually be good.

Can't say I like Clark as much. The steals were great to see this year, but he has all of Diaz's offensive issues, plus a flatter swing that doesn't give him a great chance to hit for power the way you want a right fielder to. A flat swing is no death sentence anymore, but Clark seems to have a lot of growing up to do before it's going to be wise to bet on him suddenly letting a coach get in his ear and turn him into a power hitter. The tools are great, but he has to change physically and mentally to realize the benefits of them. (Matthew Trueblood)
2017-04-28 13:30:00 (link to chat)14 Team dynasty, 40 man roster. Someone dropped Trent Clark - should I drop any of the these dudes to get him: Luis Alexander Basabe, Anderson Tejeda, Lazarito, Bobby Dalbec? Really torn with Clark's slow start.
(Eric from LA)
I'd probably drop Dalbec for him but if you're into the boom/bust scenario I can see justifying it over a more moderate ceiling guy like Clark. (Craig Goldstein)
2017-04-28 13:30:00 (link to chat)Any concerns with Trent Clark's slow start? Hit tool was always supposed to be the calling card, should we be worried he hasn't been... hitting?
(Eric from LA)
No major concerns for me just yet, though he's another guy I'll catch tomorrow. Sometimes these guys struggle, even with advanced hit tools. I focus on talent at this point and production as we edge closer to the big leagues. (Craig Goldstein)
2016-09-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)What are your thoughts on Trent Clark after an abbreviated MWL league season and performance that didn't quite fulfill preseason expectations?
(Tom from Cincinnati)
Clark didn't hit as well as hoped in his first season of full season ball, but as a 19 year old it isn't a huge issue. He has amazing make up, and a desire to learn and become better everyday. I wouldn't be surprised if he started at Wisconsin again next year, but I wouldn't call this year a disappointment. He did strike out a bit more than i expected, but overall I am not worried about him right now. The bat speed, and natural feel for hitting is still there. (Midwest League Wrap Up)
2016-06-15 20:00:00 (link to chat)Seen Trent Clark? Why does he grip the bat funny?
(Jim from Helfaer Field)
Yeah, lots of Clark. I'll start of by saying Clarks make up is off the charts. His swing has that weird grip, but as long as it is working there is no need to change it. I don't know the backstory on why he holds it that way (thumbs along the bat, similar to a golf grip). I have wondered how a thumb injury would disproportionally hurt his production compared to other players, but thats not a reason you would change anything about a player.

I do really like Clark though, he is an all out type of player, and I think he will be a first division starter. I was surprised to see him last until 15 last year. (Grant Jones)
2016-05-31 19:00:00 (link to chat)Tell me about Trent Clark. Do you like him?
(Ron from Texarkana)
I wrote up Clark for a ten pack and an eyewitness report and I'll let those speak for me but I'm all in on Clark. The bat is special with feel to hit and barrel awareness. He's going through a rough patch at the moment but that's more of pitchers making an adjustment with him. He has the ability to make adjustments and I expect him to get back on track soon. (James Fisher)
2016-03-04 13:00:00 (link to chat)I need 1 more player for my fantasy minor league team. The choice is a SP prospect (Kolby Allard, Amir Garrett, Josh Hader, Grant Holmes, Yadier Alvarez or Dylan Cease), position player (Dominic Smith or Trent Clark) or lottery ticket (Willie Calhoun). Which SP and position player would you choose and also your overall pick, taking into account not only ceiling/floor but also proximity to the bigs (the closer the better).
(paladin from philippines)
I really like a bunch of those dudes. Calhoun can be a special hitter, but he's a butcher defensively and loses value if (when) he moves to the OF. Allard and Garrett are two really high-upside arms, and Alvarez could turn into any pitcher you can think of (good or bad). I probably go Clark there, but you've got options depending on what you're into. (Wilson Karaman)
2016-01-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)Can you please rank the following outfield prospects on how much you like them in terms of future fantasy potential? Andrew Benintendi, Trent Clark, Kyle Tucker, Daz Cameron and Cornelius Randolph. Thanks for the chat!
(big time timmy jim from somewhere)
I would go Benintendi, Tucker, Clark, Cameron, Randolph. (Christopher Crawford)
