2020-05-01 13:00:00 (link to chat)Dynasty h2h obp and SB/hld league I have collected a ton of aging starters that are still high end guys, with the likes of Verlander scherzer Morton greinke david price rich hill and snell should my relievers focus on tightening up whip or era? I also have 3 other starters as of now I'm trying to trade but are very own able, Jordan Montgomery being the worst, is he a must keep or do I cut for a back up RF my only position without a fill in or stop gap behind blackmon
(spotted cow from Rockford)
You should definitely be trying to move Montgomery for a useful bat, if that's possible. No question about that, given your situation. I'd focus on tightening up your WHIP with your relievers. Why? ERA is more dependent on random variance, so I feel more comfortable targeting WHIP. Plus, I believe that relievers with elite (or above-average) WHIP numbers ultimately have a better chance at posting elite ERA numbers. (J.P. Breen)
2020-03-27 13:00:00 (link to chat)How does the Yankee rotation shake out? Do Johnny Lasagna and Jordan Montgomery both make the cut for at least the time being?
(Pizza Shuttle from Lawrence)
I do not think Loaisiga makes the rotation. At this point, it appears James Paxton should return by the start of the season. However, I expect Montgomery to make the rotation. Aaron Boone has confirmed as much re: Montgomery. (Jesse Roche)
2017-11-03 13:00:00 (link to chat)Is Jordan Montgomery a mid-rotation guy or more of a back-end SP who will get figured out more as time goes by? What pitches does he have?
(Cole Whittier from Pasadena, CA)
This is a cop out, but I think he will have a few seasons of each outcome there. He's a full four-pitch guy and the curve can be a weapon when he's commanding it. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-10-17 20:00:00 (link to chat)Do you think Jordan Montgomery can remain a starting pitcher for the long haul, and if so, is he more of a mid-rotation guy or a back-end SP?
(Cole Whittier from Pasadena, CA)
I do! He was surprisingly good last year, and I think a ton of his issues can be chalked up to fatigue. I don't think he'll light the world on fire, but I think he could be a very solid Number 4 pitcher, one of those dudes who eats up a bunch of innings competently and is incredibly value in real-life pitching ways. (Trevor Strunk)
2017-05-08 20:00:00 (link to chat)Can my JC Ramirez and Jordan Montgomery hold it down until Kluber and Price come off the DL? Thanks!
(Kyle from Jamestown)
Unless his injury turns out to be worse than reported, I don't think Kluber will be on the DL for too long. I wouldn't build my rotation around Ramirez or Montgomery, but they should be able to hold the fort until your studs get back. (Mark Barry)
2017-05-03 20:00:00 (link to chat)15-team dynasty. Do you prefer Jordan Montgomery or JC Ramirez?
(Brett from Singapore)
Montgomery seems like more of a prospect's prospect, and Ramirez came out of nowhere-ish-sorta, so in the longterm I still like Montgomery. I'd like to see Ramirez continue a little longer. He does seem better RIGHT NOW though. Maybe not all caps right now. (David Brown)
2017-01-31 19:00:00 (link to chat)I'm a rebuilder in my 24 team dynasty team and need to start getting some close to to ready MLB SP. What are some SP prospects I could get in return for Chatwood and Tyler Anderson ? I have Stephenson,Gonsalves,Fedde,Keller,Jay,Quantrill,Jordan Montgomery,Dakota Hudson,Lauer and Norge, Thanks
(NatiRedlegs1990 from Ohio)
I sort of love Tyler Anderson and have been grabbing him everywhere I can. I don't know how it happened.

It looks like you have a lot of good options and lottery tickets in the system already. I don't know if you could get top-tier guys that are close to ready with Chatwood or Anderson by themselves, but you could probably pair them with a prospect or two for an upgrade. (Mark Barry)
2016-09-29 13:00:00 (link to chat)Who do you like more and why, Chance Adams or Jordan Montgomery?
(j from OR)
Good one. I like Adams quite a bit more than Montgomery, and I like Montgomery. I just think Adams has a better chance of missing bats; he's showing 70-60-50 stuff and throwing a ton of strikes in the process. Montgomery is safer, but there's no plus pitch, and he might actually have wore command than Adams. They're both nice pitchers, but I definitely prefer Adams. (Christopher Crawford)
