2017-06-27 20:00:00 (link to chat)Whose your favorite fringe prospect?
(kjesanis from New Hampshire)
It used to be Tyler Wade until he ended up on our 101. Nick Fanti is a "crafty" lefty in the Lakewood rotation without premium stuff, but he has awesome pitchability and command for the level, and he's got enough stuff to be a real if fringy prospect. (Jarrett Seidler)
2016-12-15 13:00:00 (link to chat)Hi Kenny, thanks for chatting today. Who's your big sleeper in the Yankees system I should invest in for my dynasty team?
(Jose from San Antonio)
You're very welcome Jose. I'm not the resident fantasy guy, but I kind of like Ian Clarkin, if you can consider him under the radar. If you want *really* under the radar, Tyler Wade is a five-tool player who just barely has the tools. Kind of boring, but smells like the kind of guy that will be consistently average. That might be worth something. (Kenny Ducey)
2016-08-05 13:00:00 (link to chat)How would you personally rank the recent top 10 draftees/int'l signings?
(SK from MA)
There is so much manipulation with the pools now, the top ten picks aren't always the top ten talents. Guys like Groome and Rutherford would make a 101 while Cal Quantrill probably won't. The IFAs are even trickier. What do you do with Kevin Maitan for example? Or the Padres Cuban trio? Is Maitan a better prospect than whoever the 101st best stateside guy is (oh let's say Tyler Wade)? Most would say yes, I don't know that I have enough info to agree. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2016-06-07 12:00:00 (link to chat)This summer's Victor Robles?
(Eric from DC)
Oh how about Wilkerman Garcia? I don't know that he jumps to top 10 prospect by Summer 2017 like Robles, but I probably should have figured out a way to get Garcia on the Yankees top ten (and definitely should have figured out a way to get Tyler Wade on there). And a lot of the industry sees Staten Island. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2016-06-07 12:00:00 (link to chat)Speaking of Tyler Wade... what can you tell us about him? First division regular?
(Matt from Bluegrass State)
He sure has a shot at it. Would help if he can stick at SS, but everything looks right at the plate, borderline plus-plus runner, strong approach, and kid can hit. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2016-06-23 14:00:00 (link to chat)Any prospects outside the Top 100 that you can see making a huge leap this year? Similar to Robles' ascent
(Mike from Newton)
Keep an eye on Tyler Wade. He's a 21-year old middle infielder in Double-A for the Yankees with a .371 OBP. The power isn't there yet because he's still filling out (and it's unlikely that he ever becomes more than a 10 HR guy) but the dude can pick it at both SS and 2B. Now that's totally not a Robles-esque jump in the rankings, but it's what I've got. (Nicolas Stellini)
