October 31, 2000 Internet Baseball AwardsManager of the YearNational League Dusty Baker proved to be as popular with IBA voters as he is with the national media, running away and hiding to win his first IBA Manager of the Year crown. Tony LaRussa beat out Bobby Cox for the runner-up slot, although Cox received more first-place votes than LaRussa. Perhaps reflecting a season in which no managers were fired, all 16 National League managers appeared on at least one ballot.

Howe actually appeared on 44 more ballots than Manuel, but Manuel's large edge in first- place votes (353 to 273) made the difference. Three of the four AL West managers (Howe, Mike Scioscia and Lou Piniella) finished in the top four in the voting. As in the National League, all 14 managers received at least some consideration.
