This week's Wrap is brought to you by fellow BPer Matthew Trueblood's strongly endorsed favorite song: Twisted Measure's cover of "Let It Be." It (the Wrap, not the song) features updates on the health of numerous Cubs players and promotions aplenty.

On The Shelf

Billy McKinney (Cubs, Eyewitness Account) fouled a ball off his knee, resulting in a hairline fracture that will end his season.

The North Siders' Triple-A affiliate also lost Carl Edwards, Jr. to the disabled list thanks to a finger injury, and finally placed Mark Zagunis (Eyewitness Account), who hadn't played since August 7th, on the concussion DL.

Congrats on Your New Job

Let's start (ignore that we're in the middle) with a mea culpa. Some of these promotions occurred last week, but didn't get included on account of shoddy bookkeeping by yours truly. They're being included now because they're worth noting.

The Rangers' first pick in the 2015 draft, Dillon Tate, threw all of two innings before getting moved up to Low-A Hickory. They also moved 20-year-old Nomar Mazara (Notes From the Field) from Double-A to Triple-A, putting him good position to see MLB time in the second half of 2016.

The Dodgers moved four players from Low-A Great Lakes to High-A Rancho Cucamonga, including 2014 first-rounder Alex Verdugo (Top 10) and the no. 74 pick in the 2015 draft, Josh Sborz.

The onslaught of 2015 draftees getting promoted continues with the Red Sox and Andrew Benintendi (Eyewitness Account), as Boston moved him to Low-A Greenville. The Yankees also assigned their first-round selection, James Kaprielian, to short-season Staten Island.

Hunter Renfroe (Padres, Eyewitness Account) benefits from Travis Jankowski's recent MLB debut, as he was promoted to Triple-A El Paso.

Not a promotion, but a new occupation nonetheless. Yankees minor-leaguer Alex Robinett was placed on the Military List, as he pursues his (can you guess?) military career. The New York Post profiled him in July.

The Giants executed a pair of pitching promotions, moving Chase Johnson from High-A to Double-A Richmond; the 23-year-old has put together an impressive campaign in 2015. To replaced Johnson, they moved 2015 second-round pick Andrew Suarez (Draft Analysis) to San Jose.

The Reds promoted former first-round pick Phil Ervin (Top 10) from Daytona to Double-A Pensacola.

Back in Action

Ever active on the injury front, the Cubs' Double-A affiliate is set to see Dan Vogelbach return. Duane Underwood is rehabbing in games in Arizona, as well.
