Pirates’ first baseman Josh Bell (Eyewitness Account) was promoted to Triple-A Indianapolis. The Aramis Ramirez acquisition makes it unlikely he’ll receive meaningful time in the majors this year, though a post-minor league season call-up isn’t out of the question.
The Angels sent 2014 first round pick Sean Newcomb (Ten Pack) to Double-A this week after being inundated with letters from California League hitters.
The Orioles promoted Chris Lee (Eyewitness Account), acquired from Houston for international bonus slots in May, to Double-A Bowie.
Rookie Davis and Tyler Wade were promoted to Double-A Trenton by the Yankees, setting up a long-awaited meeting between Davis and Rookie the Bat Dog. New York also pushed Jorge Mateo (Ten Pack) to High-A, to the relief of Sally League catchers.
The Giants promoted 2014 second round Aramis Garcia (On The Rise) to High-A San Jose following a successful (.273/.350/.467) campaign in Augusta.
Erick Fedde (Top 10), a 2014 first round pick by the Nationals, graduated to Low-A Hagerstown. He’s still in the process of returning from Tommy John surgery.
2015 first round picks Taylor Ward (Angels), Daz Cameron (Astros), and Kyle Tucker (Astros) were promoted to short-season by their respective organizations.
