Many of our authors make a habit of speaking to scouts and other talent evaluators in order to bring you the best baseball information available. Not all of the tidbits gleaned from those conversations make it into our articles, but we don't want them to go to waste. Instead, we'll be collecting them in a regular feature called "What Scouts Are Saying," which will be open to participation from the entire BP staff.

Cubs C Kyle Schwarber: I just filed a report on him and said he has a slider speed glove. He can hit though. He’s the best bat I’ve seen all year.

Astros OF Domingo Santana: I see he has an OPS over 1.000 this year. Must have got that before anyone threw him a breaking ball.

Mariners SS/OF Ketel Marte: Marte may be Seattle’s CF next week. He’s only played two games there but he’ll hit better than Jackson.

Phillies RHP Franklyn Kilome: He's been really good. The FB is a weapon and he's slowly piecing together the rest. It won't be long until he's a household name.

Red Sox 3B/OF Garin Cecchini: Playing the outfield and looks dead to me. I am very underwhelmed watching him this year.

Astros LHP Josh Hader: I like a lefty with a funky delivery, but he has difficulties repeating and the secondary stuff has not improved.

Orioles C Chance Sisco: All he does is hit. Look, I understand people are split on the defense. But give me a guy that can hit every day of the week and I'll find a spot for him to play.

Rays RHP Brent Honeywell: That screwball he throws is an o-u-t out pitch, and he knows it. He’ll throw it to lefties, righties. You ask him what it does, he’ll tell you he doesn’t know but the hitters do. He comes off like Kenny Powers. Cocky, doesn’t care what anybody has to say about him.

Rays RHP Taylor Guerrieri: He’s pretty close to where he was when he went in the first round, it’s good to see. Pounds the bottom half of the zone, good command, gets grounders. He looks strong and healthy finally.
