Save Money On Your MLB.TV Subscription

For the second year in a row, Baseball Prospectus is pleased to pass along a perk to Baseball Prospectus subscribers* for MLB.tv, which allows you to watch every out-of-market regular season game plus spring training games at home, in the office or on the go!

Coming very soon, all Baseball Prospectus One Year Premium and Super Premium subscribers will receive a discount code valid for 20% discount at MLB.tv. Once available, we'll publish it on your "Manage Your Profile" page.

Already have a BP One Year Premium or Super Premium subscription? The code will be automatically added to your "Manage Your Profile" page upon availability. It's like magic!

Sweet. I subscribe to the MLB package every year anyway. Since I have automatic renewal. I suppose I need to cancel automatic renewal with MLB and then wait for the code.

I just cancelled my auto-renewal. If you go to audio/video subscriptions you'll see a cancel automatic renewal option at the bottom of the page.

FYI, if you are currently set to auto-renew, you have until Feb 28 to cancel your subscription.

Maybe next year try to roll this out before auto renew starts. I'm already autorenewed so I'm SOL and instead of being pleased at saving $22 or whatever I'm just annoyed.

Sassy comments aside, I think it's obvious rolling this out before auto-renewals would also bring in more new customers. I had to wait TWO WHOLE WEEKS to get MLB.tv this year :) but this deal last year is what got me hooked on BP (other than Sam and Ben's daily chats happily filling the void between today and the slow march towards the day I die).

I've done MLB.tv for years on auto-renewal. And I'd like to benefit from the BP discount, which is way cool. I read the comments above about how I can always cancel auto-renewal and wait to hear from you each year. OK, that may work for some BP subscribers, but it's not the way I do things.

Why can't BP work out a deal with MLB.tv that takes into account auto-renewal customers? Is there some constraint that takes that option off the table?

I suppose if the 20% isn't enough motivation for you to do things a bit differently, you can certainly keep paying the full price.

For some billing systems, coupon processing may require that automatic invoicing/payment be out of the picture. Coupons are an exception.

Talk to MLB, not BP about this. MLB has the billing system you don't like. BP is just providing a coupon code.
