Please note that in the “DH” column, the player listed is the player that has been added or removed from the lineup, not necessarily the player in the DH slot. For example, if the Phillies move Domonic Brown to DH and put Tony Gwynn Jr. in the OF, then I will list Gwynn Jr. in the “DH” column because he is the player who is gaining at-bats. Last Week AL at NL:
No DH meant only one spot for David Ortiz, Mike Napoli, and Allen Craig. Ortiz got one start at first base and Napoli got the other two. Craig got two starts in right field, which meant Daniel Nava sat those games. NL at AL:
Ryan Howard and Darin Ruf started all three games at DH and first base respectively. Strangely (given the left-handed-throwing-ness of the Oakland pitchers), Cody Asche started two games at third base, while Maikel Franco only started one game. This Week AL at NL:
Houton’s Jon Singleton-Jesus Guzman first-base platoon will most likely be sitting on the bench as the everyday DH, Chris Carter, will probably start in its place. NL at AL:
Arizona has a bunch similarly disappointing options for the DH at this point of the season. My guess is that three of the four of Jake Lamb, Cliff Pennington, Alfredo Marte, and Nolan Reimold get an extra start due to the DH.
