  • Orioles SP Chris Tillman was superb but denied a 17th win, striking out nine while tossing seven frames of one-run ball.

  • Indians SP Ubaldo Jimenez allowed two runs over 6 1/3 frames.
  • Indians RP Chris Perez blew his fifth save of the season but escaped with a no-decision.
  • White Sox SP Hector Santiago posted a quality start, allowing three runs over 6 1/3 frames.
  • Indians DH Jason Giambi delivered a pinch-hit, walk-off, two-run homer in the ninth inning.
  • White Sox OF Alejandro De Aza singled and belted a go-ahead homer in the ninth inning.

  • Mets transferred LHP Josh Edgin from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
  • Mets reinstated INF/OF Jordany Valdespin; assigned him to Triple-A Buffalo.
  • Reds released RHP Kyle Lotzkar.

  • Rockies C Wilin Rosario (calf) won't return until this weekend, at the earliest.
  • Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (finger) will take soft-toss and then graduate to batting practice over the next few days.
  • Giants 2B Marco Scutaro (finger) has been shut down for the season.
  • Brewers SS Jean Segura (hamstring) did some running Tuesday, but MLB.com's Adam McCalvy said it "did not go well."
  • Dodgers SP Chris Capuano (groin) threw a bullpen session Tuesday.
  • Brewers SP Wily Peralta will not make his final regular season start due to a blister on his throwing hand.
  • Braves RP Jonny Venters (elbow) was cleared to begin playing catch from 30 feet on Tuesday.
  • Mets manager Terry Collins admitted Tuesday that he's "worried" about whether RP Bobby Parnell (neck) will be 100 percent for spring training.
  • Padres manager Bud Black indicated Tuesday that he's optimistic OF Will Venable (abdomen) will return later this week.
American League:
  • Orioles 2B Alexi Casilla has displayed concussion symptoms.
  • White Sox RP David Purcey has been shut down for the rest of the season with a strain of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow.
  • Orioles 3B Manny Machado will be sidelined for the next 6-8 weeks after being diagnosed with a torn medial patellar ligament in his left knee..
  • Athletics OF Yoenis Cespedes tested his shoulder by throwing Monday and came out of it feeling fine.
  • Tigers RP Phil Coke will undergo an MRI on his left elbow Wednesday.
  • Blue Jays OF Moises Sierra left Tuesday's game against the Orioles with an apparent left foot injury.
  • Indians SP Justin Masterson (oblique) will be available out of the Indians' bullpen as soon as Wednesday or Thursday.
  • Athletics 1B Nate Freiman (abdomen) will hit off a tee and do soft-toss Tuesday.
  • Rays SS Yunel Escobar is day-to-day after being diagnosed with a sore left ankle.
  • A second MRI has confirmed that Blue Jays RP Brett Cecil is dealing with inflammation in his pitching elbow.
  • 1B Mike Napoli (foot) is expected to be back in the Red Sox' lineup Wednesday.
  • Red Sox OF Jacoby Ellsbury (foot) will take batting practice and go through a pregame workout prior to Tuesday's game.
  • Angels 3B Chris Nelson (hamstring) ran the bases Tuesday.
  • Astros OF Robbie Grossman (oblique) is still unable to swing pain-free.
  • White Sox SP Andre Rienzo (finger) expects to make his scheduled start Thursday against the Royals.
  • White Sox 2B Jeff Keppinger is scheduled to undergo season-ending surgery Thursday on his right shoulder.
  • Yankees DH Travis Hafner (shoulder) will be activated from the disabled list Wednesday.
  • Indians OF Michael Bourn left Tuesday's game against the White Sox with a right wrist sprain.

  • Pirates SP Jeff Locke likely won't start again this season.
  • Giants SP Madison Bumgarner will be shut down for the rest of the season.
  • Giants SP Barry Zito will make another start this season.
  • Reds SP Mat Latos will start on Wednesday against the Mets.
  • Brewers RP Jimmy Nelson will get a spot start Saturday vs. the Mets.
  • Braves SP David Hale will start on Thursday against the Phillies.
  • Reds manager Dusty Baker said the team is uncertain whether OF Billy Hamilton will be on the playoff roster.
