May 3, 2013 Fantasy BeatWeekly #streameroftheday UpdateFor those of you unfamiliar with the #streameroftheday process, I recommend one starting pitcher per day who is owned in fewer than 10% of leagues (lower than your typical standards) and post it on Twitter at @dynastyguru. And this Friday post is where I stand in front of the firing squad, fully accountable for these recommendations. I ran a longer introduction in my first post of the season, explaining why my ownership limit is much lower than most others out there, but essentially it's to be helpful in deeper mixed leagues. If you want to read the whole thing, the link is here. With the pleasantries out of the way, let's jump into the action. Here were the details for the last seven days:
With three wins and three quality starts in three tries, this week started out great. And then Wade Davis happened. Oh, Wade Davis. He had given up only seven earned runs and two homers in his first four starts combined, and then he goes ahead and gives up eight earned and two homers in this one outing. Even my second choice (Ted Lilly) got bombed out as well, so it was going to be a rough night regardless. Then Kevin Slowey had a great bounce back start for me, though if Paul Sporer keeps talking this guy up (and rightfully so), he's going to stop qualifying for this in short order. Only a completely undeserved win from Dillon Gee helps save his abysmal outing on Wednesday, considering the "strength" of his opponent. And here are my overall numbers for both the week and the season:
On the whole, it was a very solid week everywhere except ERA, and even that wasn't too bad--in fact, I saw improvement across all four categories. Hopefully some of these trends continue and the season-long statistics start to look better and better as the weather warms up. See you again next week.

FWIW, in my 9 team only AL & NL leagues, one 1 of those guys has been on the wire (Porcello).
Understood, but streaming in only formats is a like playing Russian Roulette with multiple bullets. It's really aimed at your 12-16 team mixed leagues.
