Trot Times for April 18

Home Run of the Day: Todd Frazier, Cincinnati Reds - 22.18 seconds [video]
A home run in the later innings of an 11-1 rout are rarely worth talking about as the Home Run of the Day. In Cincinnati on Thursday, however, Todd Frazier's blast is very much worth celebrating. As C. Trent Rosecrans wrote for cincinnati.com, this home run was hit by special request for Reds batboy Teddy Kremer.

Serving as the Reds batboy on Thursday, Kremer asked for two things — 11 strikeouts for free pizza and a Todd Frazier home run. He got both.
...
“It was great how excited — that look,” Frazier said. “I started smiling even before I hit home plate because I knew it. They said he forgot to pick the bat up, so the umpire was yelling at him. It was such a great a great guy. You can’t get mad — even if you have a terrible day. How can you be mad when you’ve got a guy like that around?”

Teddy can be seen celebrating with Frazier at the end of the highlight, obviously very excited by the Reds third baseman keeping his word. Who wouldn't be?!

Slowest Trot: Yovani Gallardo, Milwaukee Brewers - 26.27 seconds [video]
A pitcher home run generally comes with some excitement. This home run from Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo instead comes with baggage. The start on Thursday was Gallardo's first since being arrested from driving under the influence on a Milwaukee interstate early Tuesday morning. In light of such a reprehensible act of bad judgment, the cheers for his second inning home run can feel uncomfortable to some. How easy is it to separate on-the-field success from off-the-field troubles?

Jose Molina and Jonathan Lucroy were close behind Gallardo for the slowest trot of the day, clocking in at 25.81 seconds and 25.72 seconds, respectively.

Quickest Trot: Francisco Cervelli, New York Yankees - 17.21 seconds [video]
Another blazing fast trot from Francisco Cervelli, this one coming in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie it up for the Yankees. The next quickest trot came from B.J. Upton, who was clocked at 18.15 seconds.
