• Padres SS Everth Cabrera went 4-for-5 with a homer and two runs scored in a loss to the Rockies.

• Rockies C Wilin Rosario went 4-for-5 with a homer and three RBI in a win over the Padres.

• Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and a walk in a win over the Diamondbacks.

• Reds SS Zack Cozart went 3-for-5 with a homer in a loss to the Pirates.

• Indians DH Mark Reynolds finished 2-for-4 with a homer and five RBI in a 9-4 win over the White Sox.

• White Sox SP Chris Sale was pounded for eight earned runs in 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Indians.

National League:

• Diamondbacks SS Cliff Pennington was ejected from Saturday's game against the Dodgers for arguing a called third strike.

• John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer suspects that Reds RP Tony Cingrani might take Johnny Cueto's rotation spot.

• Dodgers RP Chris Capuano will take Zack Greinke's spot in the Dodgers' starting rotation.

• Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch writes that the Cardinals "aren’t going to trade outfield prospect Oscar Taveras to Texas" for Jurickson Profar.

• Pirates SP Phil Irwin will make his major league debut Sunday against the Reds.

• Yankees 2B Robinson Cano played an inning of shortstop in a loss to the Orioles.

• Rangers SP Yu Darvish will make his next start on Friday night in Texas against the visiting Mariners.

• Red Sox manager John Farrell said Saturday that RP Joel Hanrahan will remain the team's closer.

• ESPN's Buster Olney reports the Orioles are prepared to negotiate a six-year extension with C Matt Wieters.
