Solutions to Last Week's Baseball Acrostic Puzzle

by Zachary Levine

Thanks to everyone who downloaded and either completed or tried out the acrostic puzzle last week. I hope you enjoyed this baseball spin on one of my favorites from the puzzling world.

Well below (so as not to spoil it for anyone who still wants to play) are the solutions, first the answers to the clues, followed by the quote that the letters spell out. The first letter of each clue answer is printed in bold, revealing the source of the quote.

If you’d like to try the puzzle and missed it last week, here’s a link to the blank clues and grid with instructions.

Quote: I signed a very modest three thousand dollar bonus with the Braves in Milwaukee… and my old man didn't have that kind of money to put out. … I remember sitting around our kitchen table counting … coins out of jars, and I'm telling my dad, ‘Forget this, I don't want to play.’ – Bob Uecker, Frick Award speech
