December 20, 2012 BP UnfilteredDaily Draft Video: Chris OkeyClemson commit Chris Okey (C/INF), out of Eustis High School (Eustis, FL), is among the top high school backstops in a loaded 2013 catching crop. Okey boasts an impressive offensive profile, with a nice path to contact and good extension through the ball. There is currently some pop in the barrel and likely more to come as he matures. Okey moves fairly well behind the dish, but like many high schoolers his catch-and-throw game is more impressive in a showcase setting than in-game. There is lots of athleticism here, making it possible for Okey to shift out from behind the plate to third or second base, lessening the usual “will he stick” risks that tend to follow prep catchers around up to draft day. Today’s video is from the 2012 Perfect Game National Showcase, held in the Metrodome last June.
