September 7, 2012 Tater Trot TrackerTrot Times for September 6Things got real heated in the Cubs/Nationals game last night, when Chicago bench coach Jamie Quirk started sniping at Washington after Jayson Werth swung at a 3-0 pitch in the bottom of the fifth with a five-run lead. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the greater DC area, the Orioles held a five-run lead over the Yankees in the top of the 8th inning last night, only to have New York come back and tie it. The Orioles game (which they went on to win thanks to a few late-inning tater trots) only makes me like this quote from Washington manager Davey Johnson in regards to Chicago's complaints even more: "If they want to quit competing and forfeit, then fine. But we’re going to keep competing." Now, let's get to the trots!
