Trot Times for June 6

We're a week into June already and the Orioles and Nationals are both still in first place. It's a bit surprising. Of course, it was just as surprising in 2005, too.

Let's get right to the trots (for Tuesday and Wednesday)!

Home Run of the Day: Dan Uggla, Atlanta Braves #2 - 21.68 seconds [video]
This home run actually occurred on Tuesday, but it was too good to pass up. Uggla's second home run of the day, and 200th career home run, was a bomb to centerfield at the new Marlins Park. It was such a bomb, in fact, that it slammed into la máquina jonrón - the first home run to really, truly hit it (Giancarlo Stanton hit a home run that landed in the "waves"). Uggla's homer hit off the large sun in the center of the second tier. It's the first of many, I hope.

Slowest Trot: Kendrys Morales, Los Angeles Angels - 26.07 seconds [video]
Another slow trot from Morales. It seems to be par for the course from him recently. The next slowest trot behind Morales was from Yuniesky Betancourt, who trotted home nearly 1.5 seconds faster in 24.62 seconds.

Tuesday's slowest trot came from Alfonso Soriano, who, at 26.49 seconds, was a full second faster than Scott Hairston's 25.49 second trot.

Quickest Trot: Gregor Blanco, San Francisco Giants - 18.07 seconds* [video]
The camera cuts away right as Blanco is taking his final step onto the plate, so the trot time might be slightly different. No matter what, though, Blanco's trot was the quickest of the last two days. Robinson Cano was a bit behind him at 18.59 seconds. On Tuesday, the quickest trot belonged to Logan Forsythe, whose trotted home on the walkoff blast in 18.99 seconds.
