Tater Trot Tracker
Trot Times for August 29
by Larry Granillo
No time to waste! Let's get right to the trots!
Home Run of the Day: Mike Carp, Seattle Mariners - 20.87 seconds [video]
This home run is most notable as a late-inning, go-ahead home run for the Mariners. The homer broke an eighth-inning, 3-3 tie and gave the Mariners a 5-3 lead they wouldn't relinquish. What makes the home run so much fun to watch, though, is where it lands. The ball nearly flew completely over the rightfield bleachers on its way to the second-deck in rightfield, a partially covered restaurant area. The ball landed in the uncovered area, giving someone a nice souvenir to go with their dinner.
Slowest Trot: Carlos Lee, Houston Astros - 27.32 seconds [video]
At this point, I feel like I would be more shocked and amazed if Carlos Lee didn't take at least 27-seconds on his home run trot. The next slowest trot belonged to Nick Swisher, who enjoyed his home run to the tune of a 24.44 second trot.
Quickest Trot: Johnny Damon #1, Tampa Bay Rays - 19.52 seconds [video]
The only player with a multiple home run day on Monday. Damon wins the Quickest Trot with his first trot of the night, but his second trot, at 20.24 seconds, wasn't too far behind. Only Shane Victorino joined Damon in the under-20 second club Monday, rounding the bases in 19.57 seconds.

Who would have thought that the Cubs would hit four homers and Soriano would be the fastest?
They must have read the Facebook post by The Machine calling them a AAA team and gotten pissed off.
