Trot Times for June 22

A quick look at the trots as I deal with watching home run trots on a non-working internet connection.

Home Run of the Day: Chris Heisey #3, Cincinnati Reds - 18.82 seconds [video]
How great was Chris Heisey's - yes, Chris Heisey - three home run game? In his trio of trips around the bases, Heisey spent only 54 seconds on the field. That's an average of 18 seconds per trot for three straight trots! There have been a few games where certain players spent longer than that on the basepaths for only two trots. I'm very excited to see one of baseball's quickest trotters get the hat trick.

Slowest Trot: Bobby Abreu, Los Angeles Angels - 26.11 seconds [video]
Travis Hafner wasn't very far behind with his 25.92 second trot. Atlanta's Brooks Conrad hit a pinch-hit home run on Wednesday that was reviewed by the umpires. Conrad was initially called out at third when he tried to leg it out. The umpires called the ball a home run and Conrad came around to score. Since this was not a continuous trot, his time does not count.

Quickest Trot: Chris Heisey #1, Cincinnati Reds - 17.63 seconds [video]
There were four sub-19 second trots on Wednesday. Heisey was responsible for three of them, with his two quickest trots at the 17.6 second mark. Matt Downs of Houston came through with the other 18-second trot.
