October 15, 2010 BP UnfilteredThe Curious Case of Madison BumgarnerGiants pitcher Madison Bumgarner is a lot of things. He's a pivot point in Christina Kahrl's hot-off-the-presses NLCS preview. He's the cover model for today at baseballprospectus.com. He's also a rookie. Unfortunately, until late yesterday he was unrepresented in our Internet Baseball Awards National League Rookie of the Year ballot. Oops. Bumgarner is now available to select as a Rookie of the Year choice. Because the fix for this omission occurred late in the voting cycle and we want to ensure that you have the opportunity to make any corrections to your ballot that you wish, we've also extended the voting for the Internet Baseball Awards to Friday, October 22, at 11:00PM Pacific. If you haven't voted yet, or are considering revising your vote, please feel free, but since this is the latest into the postseason balloting has extended for some time we want to make absolutely clear that the awards are intended for regular season performance only. Please do not consider postseason performance when you are filling out your ballot. If you may have already voted and want to revise your ballot, we can't tell you who (if anyone) you selected previously, but you can certainly submit an additional ballot for any category you wish. Only the last ballot in each awards category that you submit will be considered when tabulating the totals. Thanks again for participating, and good luck snagging some of the thank-you loot. Balloting concludes October 22. Click here to cast your vote.
