Dave Krieger of the Denver Post urges fans to vote early and often for Carlos Gonzalez for the final spot on the NL All-Star team.

The Post's Troy E. Renck writes that there were three swings and misses on the All-Star snub of Miguel Olivo.

Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel writes that Yovani Gallardo was selected to his first All-Star Game then left his start with a strained oblique muscle.

Tom Groeschen of the Cincinnati Enquirer writes that Drew Stubbs hit three of his team's seven home runs as the Reds routed the Cubs.

Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe writes that Clay Buchholz will be placed on the disabled list with a hamstring injury.

Steve Buckley of the Boston Herald writes that David Ortiz has had a huge and historic turnaround.

Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record writes that Jorge Posada was hurt after taking a foul ball off his finger but x-rays were negative.

Toni Ginnetti of the Chicago Sun-Times writes that Aramis Ramirez sat out for a second straight game and hopes the rest will fix his sore thumb.
