--Jim Armstrong of the Denver Post writes that Ubaldo Jimenez holds all the aces for the Rockies as he dominates the Giants and Tim Lincecum.The Post's Mark Kiszla writes that Colorado is the pitching capital of the United States. Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News wonders what is happening to Lincecum.

--Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post writes that Stephen Strasburg will make his major-league debut for the Nationals next Tuesday against the Pirates at Nationals Park.

--Carroll Rogers of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes that the Braves pound the Phillies to take over first place in the National League East.

--George A. King III of the New York Post writes that Alex Rodriguez slams home his point in the Yankees' win after the Indians intentionally walk Mark Teixeira. Peter Botte of the New York Daily News writes that Rodriguez's grand slam gives him 590 home runs for his career. The Post's Brian Costello writes that Derek Jeter is forced to leave the game with a stiff hamstring, caused by getting hit by a pitch from Mitch Talbot. King and Costello write that Joe Girardi takes a wait-and-see view on Jorge Posada's return.

--Andy Martino of the New York Daily News writes that team sources say that the Mets were never close to firing Jerry Manuel and replacing him with Bob Melvin. Mike Puma of the New York Post writes that Luis Castillo has an aching right foot to go with an aching left foot and could be headed to the disabled list.

--Bryan Burwell of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch writes that the Cardinals' bats heat up for the Reds.

--Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times writes that the Dodgers get a rare balk-off win over the Diamondbacks when Casey Blake entices Esmerling Vasquez into making an illegal move with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Hernandez also writes that Andre Ethier is activated from the disabled list.

--Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register writes that the Angels' search for a first baseman could have many answers. Martin Fennelly of the Tampa Tribune thinks it's time to pile on the victory celebrations.

Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic writes that the Diamondbacks have interest in trading for Dontrelle Willis, who was designated for assignment by the Tigers over the weekend. Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel writes that the Marlins are also among the teams interested in Willis.

--Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune writes that Alexi Casilla goes on the disabled list with a bone spur in his right elbow and the Twins call up Tom Tolbert to take his place. Christensen also writes that Orlando Hudson avoids serious injury after a collision.

--David Murphy of the Philadelphia Daily News writes that Jayson Werth is taking time off to make some swing adjustments.

--Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram writes that Derek Holland is headed to the disabled list with rotator cuff inflammation.

--Karen Price of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review writes that Neil Walker supplants Aki Iwamura at second base for the Pirates.

--Bill Center of the San Diego Union-Tribune writes that an absent Yorvit Torrealba is placed on the restricted list and will miss three games but details are few.

--Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune writes that Dioner Navarro's days with the Rays could be numbered.
