I've been reading all my life and my first newspaper article ran in the now-defunct Beaver Falls (Pa.) News-Tribune when I was 14 years old. I covered the Pirates for 22 years for various newspapers, primarily the Beaver County Times. With that in mind, I've decided to start a new feature here on the BP Unfiltered called The Paper Trail in which I will link to some of the more interesting stories about Major League Baseball from newspapers in the United States and Canada. I won't promise that this will be a daily feature but I will try to post as often as possible. I hope you enjoy it. The Los Angeles Times' Dylan Hernandez writes that Matt Kemp and agent Dave Stewart fire back at Ned Colletti The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Jeff Schultz writes that Frank Wren's problem is that he hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt. The Houston Chronicle's Richard Justice writes that Drew Stubbs is the one that got away from the Astros. The San Francisco Chronicle's Scott Ostler writes that Bruce Bochy's not-bad move came at a bad time. The New York Daily News' Mike Lupica writes that Jeff Francouer says the Mets' clubhouse is no longer dead and the players are having fun again.

Nice feature! It is too bad the Giants article doesn't even address pitch count. A lot more than 32,000 fans are going to be upset if their freak gets injured and disappears for a year.
