One can get carried away linking to Joe Posnanski, but his Rule 5 draft history post is an instant classic.
Among the things I learned was that Hack Wilson was a Rule 5 draftee in 1925. True to form, it's 2500 words long.

I love my SABR newsletters. A particular favorite is the Business of Baseball Committee's "Outside the Lines."
