This week’s Wrap covers the return to health of three players with big names, missed time from the no. 1 overall pick, and a slew of promotions.

On The Shelf

Because when you trade one disappointing second overall pick, you need bad news on another: The Mariners’ Danny Hultzen is done for the regular season due to shoulder fatigue.

Franklin Barreto (Eyewitness Report) (Athletics) sustained a bone bruise to his left wrist, and will miss some time.

Mets shortstop prospect Amed Rosario‘s (Eyewitness Report) wrist injury initially occurred on a swing a week or so ago, but he’s still feeling it.

The Diamondbacks can’t have nice things, which probably explains how recent no. 1 overall selection Dansby Swanson managed to snag 14 stitches and a concussion after being hit by a pitch.

Congrats on Your New Job

White Sox first round pick Carson Fulmer is fulfilling expectations that he’d fly through the minors, as he was promoted to High-A Winston-Salem.

The Nationals promoted Lucas Giolito (Eyewitness Report) to Double-A Harrisburg, positioning him for a potential debut late in 2016 should everything continue to move smoothly.

Acquired by Houston along with Danry Vasquez for Jose Veras, David Paulino was promoted to High-A Lancaster. He’s a tall kid with a big fastball, Tommy John surgery on his resume, and a chance for significant development. Recent second overall pick Alex Bregman (Ten Pack) was also pushed to Lancaster.

Taylor Guerrieri‘s (Ten Pack) stuff is just about back to normal, which means it’s too advanced for the lower minors. The Rays have promoted him to Double-A Montgomery.

Yairo Munoz (Eyewitness Report) (Oakland) received a promotion to High-A Stockton.

The Pirates promoted JaCoby Jones (Eyewitness Report) to Double-A and then traded him to Detroit for Joakim Soria. That’s just how it goes sometimes. Tyler Glasnow (Eyewitness Report) was not traded, but he was promoted to Triple-A Indianapolis.

The Mets promoted Brandon Nimmo (Eyewitness Report) to Triple-A Las Vegas. No word on his medicals just yet.

The Mariners’ D.J. Peterson (Ten Pack) has had a rough go of it in Double-A, so he might as well try his hand at Triple-A, right?

The Rangers have assigned Lewis Brinson (Eyewitness Report) to fill the Nick Williams–sized hole in Double-A Frisco’s outfield. He’ll do it better defensively.

Dodgers’ second round pick Josh Sborz has been promoted to Low-A after breezing through short-season ball.

Back in Action

The Cubs got Javier Baez (Eyewitness Report) a rehab start in the GCL, and he was playing shortstop.

Julio Urias (Eyewitness Report) (Dodgeres) returned to action after undergoing elective surgery on his eye.

The Orioles’ Jomar Reyes (Eyewitness Report) is back in form, and has smashed two home runs in four games since being reinstated.
