In last night's Emmy Awards, both Jake Taylor and Crash Davis won awards. It's not everyday you see retiring catchers making waves in Hollywood. Good for them.

Let's get to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Adrian Gonzalez, Los Angeles Dodgers #1 – 22.85 seconds [video]
Gonzalez hit a home run in his first at-bat as a Dodger back in August. This home run, hit on September 23, was his second home run as a Dodger. He would later hit number three in the game too.

Slowest Trot: Geovany Soto, Texas Rangers – 28.33 seconds [video]
Soto did not expect this ball to leave the yard. As the announcers note, Soto yelled to himself as he made contact, upset at the kind of contact that he made. At first base, Soto was still unsure about what had happened and nearly stopped at the bag out of confusion. He did not come to a complete stop, however, so his slow trot stays on the record books. Lucky for Soto, he falls out of the top 10 slowest trots by only 0.01 seconds.

Quickest Trot: Brendan Ryan, Seattle Mariners – 16.79 seconds [video]
In an amazing coincidence, Seattle's Brendan Ryan also missed out of being in the top 10 by only 0.01 seconds – except this time it was for the quickest trot of the season. at 16.79 seconds, Ryan's trot falls behind the 16.78 second trot from Carlos Gomez on September 3. Ryan's Mariners and Soto's Rangers faced off on Sunday in Seattle.
